Immortals: Phoenix Rising. Formerly known as Gods and Monsters.

it's Fenyx Rising, but I guess you got the pun...

It's the name of the female warrior. Not to be confused with Fenix Rising.

I tihnk the name of the series will probably be "Immortals" and then whatever new hero they introduce.

I like it actually :)

If the Series V leaked picture is real, I think it is a mistake by MS. Xbox shouldn't be trying to normalize digital only gaming to that degree. Having your two cheapest consoles be digital only, while your physical console is the most expensive by $100, sets a really bad precedent for the future of physical media.

If Series V were to be real 3rd console for MS, I would want it to be $400 with a disc drive, 1 TB SSD, 8-9 tflops GPU, and probably 14 GB of RAM (3 GB of slower RAM for the OS, and 11 GB that are over 400 GB/s). Aimed at somewhere around 1700-1800p upscaled to 4K gaming, compared to 1080-1440p for Series S and 2160P/4K for Series X.

What is Series V supposed to be? I haven't seen it. Digital Series X?

Yeah, Series V is 100% fake. Photoshopped image of Series X. It's way too small to be disc-less Series X with the same APU. And I don't see Microsoft making a third APU as some sort of in-between type of thing. It serves no purpose really. On the other hand, I can see something like that in the future as Series X slim with 5nm chip inside. But it definitely won't be called Series V.

Nobody knows specs, all we have is the pic. If it's real, I'm guessing specs between S and X. Seen some speculating that it's literally just Series X digital for $400, but that would be a stupid decision by MS because it would make Series S look utterly worthless by comparison, for $100 more than S you could get 8 more tflop, more and faster RAM, and double your SSD size. If it is real it has to be like 8 tflop with a larger SSD, an exact half step between S and X.

It's photoshopped. You can't see the port that the Series X has on the Series V.

Apple New Rules

Apple says that game streaming services, such as Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud, are explicitly permitted. But there are conditions: Games offered in the service need to be downloaded directly from the App Store, not from an all-in-one app. App makers are permitted to release a so-called “catalog app” that links to other games in the service, but each game will need to be an individual app.

The rules underscore the tension between Apple’s control of its platform, which it says is for safety and security reasons, and emerging gaming services considered by many to be the future of the gaming industry. Gaming streaming services want to act as a platform for game makers, such as approving individual games, but Apple wants the streaming services to act more like a bundle of games and says it will need to review each individual game.

Apple’s rules mean that if a streaming game service has 100 games, then each of those games will need an individual App Store listing as well as a developer relationship with Apple. All the games and the stores need to offer in-app purchase using Apple’s payment processing system, under which Apple usually takes 30% of revenue.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/11/apple-app-store-new-rules-will-affect-google-stadia-microsoft-xcloud.html

It's a start but I don't see Microsoft releasing xCloud with all those other rules still there.

Yeah these rules are terrible. MS would have to get permission to upload each game from publishers into the app store for people to download a game that can only be streamed. Tim Apple pls.

To be honest, I don't see MS going with mid gen refresh this time around. I think, they will just release Series S2 an Series X2 when they think the time is right.

Yeah. Outside of the usuals re-designs, the only new model I expect to see is a mid-gen discless Series X, for all the early Series S owners who may want a cheaper upgrade. I could see it being closer in design to Series S too, for that purpose.

Microsoft just officially confirmed that BC games on Series S won't run with XB1 X enhancements. Major wasted opportunity by MS imo. A small overclock on the GPU and an extra GB of RAM and it probably would have been enough to play BC games with XB1 X enhancements, while only costing MS maybe another $3 per console.

Well, they will still run fine and be upscaled to 1080p/4K :)

Also, the video about the S on DF, is also pointing out that the game will still probably run better on the S than the original 360, less lag, etc..

I think this is okay!

The games are still going to be enhanced versions of the Xbox One S version (ie 120fps Gears 5, faster loads for outer worlds etc). The Xbox One X pushed 4k in a lot of games and the Series S can only upscale to 4k so with that considered it makes sense that it wont have One X enhancements.

Takes some big balls to openly troll like that. I can't believe with how much the leakers leaked, that no one saw that. Crazy. Proves they can still fool, which is impressive I'd say.
