If anything the Halo delay tells me that Microsoft is in for the long term, focusing on long term profits over short term ones and shows how serious they are about game quality.

"pot committed?"

huh.

If Bungie comes back home it need to come with a new game announcement from them.

Brennecke also confirmed that bees, mosquitoes and other flying insects are on the way in a later update, "to add variety for combat and defence" and to make sure that "most bases, no matter where they are built, can be attacked by something." Some areas of the backyard in Grounded are "under construction", and Brennecke says Obsidian aim to "fill out the entire yard with content and cool areas to explore," as well as to "add more systems in the game, which means more things to do in the water and elsewhere."

Oh great.. fucking bees, can imagine giants wasps/hornets. We may need to change our base location pimp.

Glad they sped up the combat on the toads. Probably won't be able to beat level 1 though

Voted Wasteland 3. Have 0 experience in the IP but turn based strategy is one of my top genres. Feel like I’m gonna have a blast.

Wasteland 2 was excellent. What it lacked to be top notch was money. While Wasteland 3 didn't get AAA budget, Microsoft helped them a little bit this time around. They were able to delay it twice to improve the presentation.

I think it will have an average of 85-90 on Metacritic.

Done with Devil May Cry 5. Great game that could've been so much better IMO.

Graphics are great, especially during cutscenes. Performance is also very stable.

Enemy variety wasn't that great though and there weren't really a lot of different environments.

Not the biggest fan of the combat gameplay and the controls either. Three characters that play completely different, yet use the same buttons and since you constantly swap characters after pretty much every mission, you're guaranteed to press a few wrong buttons here and there. At the same time, Dante is the only character that can properly dash and that only when set to one of his four playstyles. Everyone else just has this evasion move which can only be done to the left or right. For any other direction you will slowly jump instead.

Dante also has vastly more moves and weapons than V and Nero which makes him far more enjoyable to play.

The story is pretty simple but the way it's told is just confusing. Not only do you frequently swap characters, but the timeline does too. Sometimes you're playing part of the past, then present and then past again and some missions are set during the same exact time but from a different point of view...

It's still an enjoyable game but a bit overrated IMO. Bit better than DmC in some parts (presentation, characters) but also worse in others (combat, environments).

8.0/10

While I enjoy the games, I always found the series over-rated.

Phil basically said he was given the option of delaying parts of Infinite (like MP or Campaign) but decided against it and to delay the entire thing, best decision, also Brad Sams redeemed?

The way that it was looking they were probably going to release the campaign with several missing features like proper next-gen lighting, and the multiplayer with barebones features, modes and maps.

It would've been a bad look with people already trying to tag it with 'GaaS' and make it seem like they were cheaping out on certain aspects for launch, and just planning to fix it over time while also implementing unpopular mtx features.

For this game to really deliver as a proper Halo, it needs to release with the full Halo experience from day one. It can't skimp out on anything, regardless of what their plans are for future content and supporting it over time.

I'll also say that I'd be insanely pissed if they cut the Xbox One version after having just bought an Xbox One X. However, if that's the only way they can feasibly finish the game properly for next-gen (which wouldn't make sense to me, since it's basically fine in it's current state for Xbox One, with just a few little details needed), then I could possibly understand.

The game would have to really deliver though. It couldn't be another Halo 5 or even 4 type effort, if they're going to that length of broken promises. They're walking on thin ice as is, so it really would have to be a return to form, not just a solid or even disappointing outing.

If they were to pull that off though, I'd obviously have no choice but to get a Series X.

On the topic of what Xbox should do around launch without a big exclusive, my original thought when advocating for a delay on Halo was they should just write a check to CDPR to get Cyberpunk on Game Pass. I've come to realise that's fairly unrealistic though.

What they could do, is pay CDPR to finish the next-gen version of Cyberpunk sooner for Xbox, futher their sponsorship deal and make another exclusive bundle with the next-gen version and Xbox Series X a few months after launch.

As much as I hate this in general, they could even 'moneyhat' the next-gen version for a year of exclusivity. Especially since it'll no doubt look a whole lot better on next-gen. PS5 owners will still get the game through backwards compatibility anyway, so it wouldn't be that bad.

That would also help with the narrative of displaying the extra power of Series X, with a game that should look worlds better on the system.
