Starting temper my expectations a little. An hour isn't too bad, kinda wish it was a little longer. I'm assuming 1/4 of that will be dedicated to Halo. Fable and other games that don't have a release will probably get less than a minute trailer. I'm expecting around.. 15-20 games shown. Hopefully COD doesn't take up much time if it is there.

After you take away 3rd party games and times exclusives PS5 showed 8 games: Spiderman MM, Horizon FW, Ratchet and Clank, GT7, Demon Souls, Returnal, Sackboy Adventure and Destruction All Stars.

When you look at one hour like that, it’s more then enough time to show you have more then the other guy. It would send a message above all else that they got their act together.

Well, if it's true that Sony might show FF, SF and maybe Silent Hill in August money hatted for a year or even more each then MS doesn't only have to beat the last show of Sony. MS also needs to show more simply because people know already from the last years what you can expect from Sony on a yearly basis especially when it comes to an high average quality. It's not enough to be just as good as Sony is to have a chance to compete. The Playstation brand is just too big for that and their name is maybe bigger than ever atm. 

MS needs a strong start in the next gen. That's especially nowadays super important when people buy a console their friends have as well because of all the online multiplayer.

If that is the case, they shouldn't have gotten rid of 12 month codes/cards. That puts them at a huge disadvantage against Sony on multiplayer pricing. 

Given the recent announcements, I get a feeling they will remove it by the time the year ends.

I almost agree with all that but the Gold (MP paywall) behind GP, I can see the media spins rn “Xbox forces you to join GP to play online” and even tho the 1 month pricing is the same, Xbox live Gold is/was cheaper at $60 a year compared to GP which is like double at $120 for a year. So probably not a good move however.

Move all the Gold deals to GP, and make MP free to everyone. This just gives them more advantage next gen, and well... it’s already free on PC so no point in punishing your other fan base.

Going to be interesting to see how much MS is going to hold back for this event, the State of Play in August might have FF16, FF7-re2, SF6, GOW 2 trailer, Silent Hill reboot, SM: Miles Morales gameplay trailer/demo and RE8 gameplay demo. That is a great show on paper.

MS can’t afford to have a weak show, I’m hoping that XGP have some AAA exclusives locked up.

Did the 2 years of gold and converted it to GPU, can confirm it still works if anyone is curious lol. Kinda wish I did another year now. Best value in gaming, you can’t argue that.

I don't think discontinuing All Digital edition is related to Series S in any type or form. The consoles from this moment on will target people from emerging markets or people with low income. Most of those people either don't have good Internet connection or they have highly capped internet that they can't download 50-100gb games. Those people would like to buy cheap discs or used ones.

Gamepass, as cheap as it is, would need a good unlimited internet subscription.
