I haven't watched the video yet. But will soon.

But sounds like an extension to virtual texturing or maybe tiled resources... Here is a recap of that if you are interested:
https://www.giantbomb.com/forums/xbox-one-8450/x1-esram-dx-11-2-from-32mb-to-6gb-worth-of-texture-1448545/

It was an impressive demonstration back in the day, but games never really took it and ran with it.

If this turns out to be accurate, makes those people saying that the Unreal 5 demo couldn't run on Series X at the same level of performance quite wrong. MS are masters of software, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they pulled off something like this using software. Gives them a pretty fair advantage over Sony, if MS did manage to pull off faster data throughput speeds than Sony in spite of Sony building an expensive custom SSD, through software decoding innovation.

The demo -can- run on the Xbox Series X, Epic would just need to prioritize things differently... I.E. Less emphasis on the texturing and more emphasis on the lighting.
Arguably it was the geometry in that demo that was truly impressive anyway.

What do you think of this Velocity Architecture explanation?

The problem we have with "The power of the SSD" at the moment is we know nothing about their real world performance numbers it's all good giving out paper specs of the max sequential but what kind of actual performance levels are we going to get on both the Series X/PS5 SSD's is what I want to know.

To my knowledge, the MCC isn't a play anywhere title, so no, you wouldn't be able to get it for free on a different platform than the one you purchase it on.

It's part of GamePass though, so you could just get that and play it wherever you want.

^ That :)

It is not a Play Anywhere title. But if you have GamePass then you are covered and can have it on both; also keep in mind that the PC version only have some of the content (I believe Halo Reach and 2 for now)

Halo CE says hi.

They are porting them in chronological order.

Late to the party but Doom (2016) has been beaten.

What a reboot of the series. Gameplay is spot on, platforming sections are surprisingly not terrible, graphics and animations are great.

But not all is perfect. Environments don't offer that much variety. Some glory kill animations happen way more often than others (not surprising when you consider that they are determined by which body part you're looking at). The soundtrack is not nearly as memorable as the old ones. Story is meh and they could've done a little more with the fights. Basically you end up in a big room or open area and all hell breaks loose (quite literally). Maybe some more moving sections (train ride or something) or more focus on specific enemy types to change things up a little.
Also at the end of almost every big fight, there's some minor enemy lurking in the shadows. You need to move around the area and search that little fucker to finally be able to proceed. Annoying.

Looking forward to playing Doom Eternal some time in the future.

9/10

Decided to make an update (last one was in March 2019 so pretty much a year) even though the vast majority of newer games don't support time tracking anymore. If possible, I'm going to use in-game times for newer games. Expanded the list to 25 since I hate kicking games out lol.

1. Dragon Age Inquisition 85.00 hours
2. Gems of War 84.37 hours (+ 0.09)
3. Battle Islands 75.47 hours
4. Assassin's Creed Odyssey 73.50 hours (+ 73.50)
5. Project Spark 72.20 hours
6. Fallout Shelter 70.98 hours
7. Assassin's Creed Origins 60.22 hours
8. Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition 53.00 hours
9. Battle Ages 45.03 hours
10. Watch Dogs 43.85 hours
11. Assassin's Creed Syndicate 42.75 hours
12. Clicker Heroes 40.73 hours
13. Minecraft (X1 + Bedrock Edition) 40.09 hours (+ ?.??)
14. Forza Horizon 2 38.90 hours
15. Assassin's Creed Unity 38.12 hours
16. Rise of the Tomb Raider 37.30 hours (+ 2.00)
17. Far Cry 4 37.17 hours
18. Kingdom Hearts III 36.76 hours (+ 36.76)
19. Shadow of the Tomb Raider 34.88 hours (+ ?.??)
20. The Crew 30.77 hours
21. Jurassic World Evolution 30.90 hours (+ 30.90)
22. Forza Motorsport 6 29.62 hours (+ ?.??)
23. Far Cry Primal 29.50 hours
24. Batman Arkham Knight 27.45 hours
25. Rayman Legends 26.90 hours

EDIT: Before anyone asks, https://www.exophase.com/

Last update was from February, so 3 months later it looks like this:

1. Assassin's Creed Odyssey 96.52 hours (+ 23.02)
2. Dragon Age Inquisition 85.00 hours
3. Gems of War 84.37 hours
4. Battle Islands 75.47 hours
5. Project Spark 72.20 hours
6. Fallout Shelter 70.98 hours
7. Assassin's Creed Origins 60.22 hours
8. Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition 53.00 hours
9. Battle Ages 45.03 hours
10. Watch Dogs 43.85 hours
11. Assassin's Creed Syndicate 42.75 hours
12. Clicker Heroes 40.73 hours
13. Minecraft (X1 + Bedrock Edition) 40.09 hours
14. Forza Horizon 2 38.90 hours
15. Assassin's Creed Unity 38.12 hours
16. Rise of the Tomb Raider 37.30 hours
17. Far Cry 4 37.17 hours
18. Kingdom Hearts III 36.76 hours
19. Shadow of the Tomb Raider 34.88 hours
20. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War 34.08 hours (+ 34.08)
21. The Crew 30.77 hours
22. Jurassic World Evolution 30.90 hours
23. Forza Motorsport 6 29.62 hours
24. Far Cry Primal 29.50 hours
25. Batman Arkham Knight 27.45 hours

Unsurprisingly AC Odyssey took the top spot just short of 100 hours.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War made it instantly on #20. There are still some misc achievements to get but they need some time to prepare. Currently not in the mood to do them so it will likely not rise any time soon.

Once I get the season pass for Far Cry 5, it will definitely make the list. It currently sits at 23.88 hours.

If anyone still plays Forza Horizon 4 or are thinking about playing it, they've just given away 200 Super Wheelspins to players.

Looks like I'm going to be playing some FH4 today.

There's nothing in my in-game message center but I checked the tweet and there are quite a few that haven't got one.

Bleeding edge has somehow managed to maintain a constant playerbase. Good for NT.

Sony wont announce the price in June. Last gen they didn't announce a price during the 1sy PS4 showcase.
