Wonder why they won't do the same with Bethesda?

Maybe they feel the games that were part of a $7.5 billion deal isn't as important to keeping multiplat as is a $68 billion deal?

Yeah that makes sense. As long as Xbox stays in the console space, I wouldn't care if they came to other platforms as long as it's day one on game pass.

Damn. At the moment, xbox is really the most pro consumer of the big 3...

While I think it's a bad idea for the growth of xbox, it's great news for gamers.

Yeah and I think that alone will pull a lot of casual gamers away from PlayStation and onto Xbox/Game Pass.

Xbox can now entice that casual gaming audience that only plays CoD by asking, why pay $70 to buy that years CoD on PlayStation when for only $15, you can play that years CoD day one as well as most, if not all, previous CoD's?

Also prediction today, somewhat Xbox related...

Persona 4 Golden will be announced today during the ND, after the show confirmed for PS, and then going to skip Xbox.

Atlus: Fuck them Xbox players.

Good prediction, seems highly likely

Adapting ahead of regulation: a principled approach to app stores

...

Ehh, the weak point here is Microsoft's position on Xbox vs Windows, mobile phones, etc. Really bad argumentation. Because it's still not clear why consoles should be treated differently from other devices and that's a good and normal thing. The reason why Microsoft playing nice with Windows and trying to use it to attack Apple is obvious. Not because they are some good guys. But because - a) they failed to take control of Windows app distribution. Windows developers don't need to go through Windows Store to distribute apps. Microsoft HAS to play nice here and allow third party payment services because otherwise devs will simply avoid Windows Store and the reality of Windows app distribution is that they won't lose anything from it. Because it's pretty common to download Windows apps directly from developer's websites. b) On mobile, I won't even comment. Just two words: Windows Phone.

It also makes me think like, are they trying to get this done faster for some reason? Maybe they have other plans in play, and want this over asap.

Idk, not a business person and won't pretend to be one.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of PlayStation still having access. The incentive to buy a PC or Xbox is already there with Gamepass, and will only grow with more companies they buy being added to it, but by leaving it on PS you take away the hatred from Sony fanboys and they no longer are as salty. It's a good PR move, plus they will probably make a good amount more profit in the short term per sale on PS devices while they grow the subscriber count for Gamepass.

I still thnk that the acquisition was still a great move. I buy CoD every year and now they've saved me $60. Gamepass is gonna sour once CoD comes there day one.

My biggest problem with this deal is how it affected whatever else they had planned, we all know that they jumped on this because Activision went to MS to sell so it was an opportunity thing.

Let’s say they do buy someone else like Capcom or Sega in the future will regulators force them to keep making those games multi platform because they can use the argument that MS has too much?

The funniest thing will be if Sony will continue to do their cross play bullshit where they tell the game makers that they have to pay them for “lost revenue”.
