I just finished Mass Effect 3. I never thought of this way, but going through the details of story and characters in one shot, I think this is the best gaminf franchise of all time. Ultimate brilliance creating these three games. Technically ahead of anything available right now. Wow. I never realised how great these games were.

Being busy with work and family life, games don't grab me like they used to be anymore. I consider my self played a lot if I spent 2 hours in a day. No game has ever grabbed me like this trilogy did in the last couple of weeks.

I'm still against Netherrealm making Killer Instinct, or at least, I'm worried.

Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat play nothing like each other, I am worried that Netherrealm will take Killer Instinct and put their own spin on it when it doesn't need it, all a Killer Instinct sequel needs to be is basically an exact clone of Killer Instinct for Xbox One but with more characters and a proper story, I don't think Netherrealm will want to do that, a studio with the pedigree of Netherrealm I worry would want to put their own mark on it and change some stuff and because it's Netherrealm, they'll likely be allowed.

I'd rather Netherrealm continues to focus on their own IPs, such as Mortal Kombat, I completely forgot that they do Injustice which makes it even more confusing as to why WB/Discovery don't want them but are keeping Rocksteady, Avalanche and Monolith...But if they lose Injustice I'd rather they just do a new IP. Then find a humble indie developer to make Killer Instinct or try to get the old band back together.

I would not object to Netherrealm assisting on specifically the story portion of Killer Instinct though.

I disagree, Netherrealm is one of the few fighting game developers who actually have a full singleplayer story to all their games so if anything they will definitely flesh out a full story and probably develop different endings and for each character.  Their production would be very high as well.  This is also a trademark of the studio so you know that KI would look awesome in their hands.  I also believe they will keep the gameplay the same because it would not be Killer Instinct if you up and changed the gameplay and style.  It would not be uncommon for them to hire a team more suited for KI and I doubt that WB will be using Injustice for anything so who knows if that license cannot just be purchased by MS.

So I pissed myself after reading all the horror stories about the final boss of Yakuza 7.
Turns out he was super easy. Literally spend hours leveling up, ranking up some other jobs and earning money to upgrade my weapons and craft armor.
And it's not like there are easy ways to do that. I only managed to get from lvl. 54 ish to 61 by grinding in the battle arena.
I doubt most of that was necessary. He couldn't knock out a single team member. Hell I doubt anyone dropped below 250 health.
Will post my review a little later.

There are people who play with only one hand, who are 70, who have mental disabilities or who just don't care about a challenge. As long as you can still play a game on a harder mode everything should be ok? But some seem to think a game has to be played by everyone like they prefer it.

Nothing against achievements which are a challenge, though. They are the best!

People did?  I am pretty sure 99% of them meant the final boss of the extra 2 dungeons that unlock after you beat game.

I agree with all of that though.

My concern is them changing up the gameplay to make it unique to them, trying to put their own Netherrealm stamp on things, I mean, I sorta understand a studio wanting to make their own mark, someone coming up to you and being like "make this, exactly this way, don't change it at all" to someone with the pedigree of Netherrealm might not be appealing to them.

Cause Killer Instinct doesn't need to change the gameplay at all, it just needs to be a clone of KI 2013 but with more characters and a fleshed out story, I'm not sure if that would be appealing to Netherrealm.

Sorta like 343 taking over Halo, they tried to make their own mark, for a while they tried to move away from certain aspects of Bungie era Halo, Halo 5 tried even further with that, now they realised that was a mistake and we have Halo Infinite which looks a lot closer to the Bungie era Halo. In fairness, some things went well, some things didn't go well, my point is just it's another large studio taking over an IP and trying to put their own stamp on it to make it unique to them.

I wouldn't object to them setting up another team though, led by a former Iron Galaxy employee maybe? Netherrealm and Iron Galaxy are both based in Chicago.

All this said, I know Netherrealm is one of the best fighting studios in the industry, no doubt about that, I also have the same reservations when folk casually suggest a Halo game by ID Software too though

I would say you never know what you need until you have it.  The 2013 KI isn't the exact same as the original KI and there were definitely good improvements to the system.  I look at the MK and Injustice games and you do not see NR changing up the core gameplay of any of those games but where they try to add change is within the characters themselves.  I am sure that NR would not change up the core gameplay but keep it the same because its the signature of the series.  Where I see them adding their stamp is in characters they create for the series themselves.

Also I would love for ID to do a Halo game.  They can easily take any particular character and do their brand of face pace balls to the wall action.  Take the Arbiter and give him to ID for his own game.  I believe that would be awesome and not interfer with the main game done by 343.  Hell, give one of these RPG studios a chance to also flesh out the world as well and I can see myself all in for that.

Spoiler!

No I'm talking about Tendo since he can knock out any character with one ability and that the fight takes roughly 30 minutes because he receives very little damage. Thankfully I read about it beforehand so I knew what I had to do with Kasuga to prevent an instant game over and restart from the beginning of the tower.

But that alone shows two flaws of the game. Not being able to save inside dungeons. I think only the very first story dungeon had save points, all the others didn't. And the second flaw being that it's game over when the party leader dies. I only noticed that during the final boss fight in the Geomijul HQ.

He was rather easy but I was around lv 70.  The last city underground dungeon is the best place for grinding.  It is basically an instant level up after defeating a specific enemy (and you encounter 4 of them) at worst you need 40 fights for going from lv 70 to 99.  Btw the first premium adventure dungeon is rather easy and is an easy achievement. The last True dungeon is technically not that hard if you do some grinding (upgrade weapoins to ex etc).

Yeah, I never understood the hate that those of us who choose to play on Easy get. I just don't enjoy being challenged when playing a game, I used to play CoD and Halo on Veteran/Legendary for the achievements, but these days I don't even feel like doing that. I like to get through games as quickly as possible so that I can move on to the next, and playing on a higher difficulty works against that goal.

Big facts. Why I won't play Souls games and reason why I can't stand the souls community. God forbid you have more than one option. It's like they think having an easy mode = the other mode will be easy.

Just 1000'ed Will of the Wisps for example. Played on easy.. honestly was a little too easy even for me. But then I had to do hard mode and damn it whooped me. Had to overall beat the game 4 different times to get them all. Good thing the game was fun as that's pretty much the exception to the rule for me.

I beat around 30 games a year and if I did beat them all on hardest diff (as if I could for them anyway), I definitely would be missing out on a ton of games.
