It is the movie of the decade! Nothing else like it! The action, the story, the acting! All in a class of its own!... if you're talking about garbage. Starwars died a complete death with this one. Atleast it dies with a bang.

So if the star destroyer just tilted a bit it could have been rid of those horses,but ofcourse the new rebels do not understand tactics and planning in this trilogy.

Did not see it yet but the thought is cringeworthy.

Saw it for the second time just now.

My earlier opinion stands; this one was the best of the sequel trilogy. The trilogy clearly lacks a cohesive idea though, but that was already the conclusion after The Last Jedi and I noticed this with this one the first time I saw it as well. So everything I said before about it remains unchanged; Palpatine is awesome, it is great that they actually show him being immensely powerful and practically unbeatable. Kylo Ren has the most interesting story arc. The way Carrie Fischer is included in the movie is great, you'd think she'd have actually been there on set if you didn't know better. The more negative aspects of my previous opinions still stand as well though; the start is weirdly fast paced due to this movie needing to 'fix' the events of the previous movie. How Palpatine still lives and how Luke and Anakin's blue Lightsaber was recovered from Bespin remains unanswered and the fact that there's again this planet-killing device is a shame.

New things I noticed now, which I especially looked for; The Lightsaber was obviously split in two at the end of The Last Jedi, but is now has welding marks. So it was simply fixed. Dialogue makes it clear throughout the movie that the power of all the Jedi from the past will channel through Rey Leia alludes to it, Luke does, and obviously the voices of all the Jedi that are heard at the end. It remains a missed opportunity that you don't actually see any of the old Jedi appearing behind her when she deflects Palpatine's power.

Yeah the death star thing was completely unnecessary as they could oribitally bombard planets and glass them all with such a large fleet.  And yeah it's clear JJ would not have made 8 the same way it was made by Johnson.  I'm guessing 8 would have ended with the discovery of palpatine and teasing the fleet

If JJ made 8, Luke and Snoke would have been alive. Palpatine was brought back because Snoke was dead.

TLJ was an absolutely abysmal movie in every single way. Comedy was hamfisted, villains turned into caricatures, derivative use of cute animals. It wasn't just a bad star wars, it was a bad movie in any universe. There's a scene where a drunk little mister moneybags alien is feeding coins into BB at a casino, and then later BB SAVES EVERYONE FROM A PACK OF ARMED GUARDS BY FIRING THE COINS OUT AT THEM.

This movie is just as awful as gremlins 2, twice as long, and half as entertaining. 

I've said this before, but maybe Rian Johnson is better off making his own movies like Knives Out. That film was great imo.

That's a fairly accurate description of pretty much all the Star Wars films. Except for the first one, which was really well-plotted... although, it did have some weaknesses that got fixed with Rogue One (that is the first film in the series that made me care about the Rebels and IMO really enhanced that element of the original film. Before that, in the games like Tie Fighter on PC, I preferred killing them).

So what is with fight me. Can you take a viking that goes cheap only fight been in eye gouged someone then he ended up with dislocated shoulder. You know why star wars suck now? Because Disney took it over and mass produced a product meant for people like you. Insecure little people.

I’ll do you one better. This will probably be an unpopular opinion.

I watched Avengers Endgame for the first time this week, after having seen Infinity War for the first time last month. And I have to say I had a lot more ‘fun’ watching Rise of Skywalker than I did Endgame. Obviously, Endgame, Avengers and the Marvel series as a whole is much more well written, more consistent and has a clear objective, but if it’s about fun, I’d say the latest Star Wars actually tops it. And looks too, I get that Marvel’s color scheme and CGI effects are supposed to look comic booky, but I think the more realistic and gritty look of Star Wars is more pleasing. For one I don’t get for example why Thanos isn’t primarily make-up and prosthetics for close-ups.

The biggest problem though is that I thought Endgame was much too long, by the time of the final battle it has basically become a chore to watch. Then in the battle it takes to long to finally beat Thanos, hero after hero tries but gets smacked away, which got kind of annoying. We get it, he’s strong. With a runtime of almost three hours, I think that they could’ve trimmed about half an hour. There’s also too much going on to keep track off, with the many different locations and time travel. Time travel is always risky, they make a joke about it by wondering if works like in Terminator or Back to the Future which is nice, but I doubt Endgame did it ‘right’ either. Especially with how it ends, a pretty big change to history. From a character point of view though Captain America’s send-off was satisfying. I think Infinity War was way superior, with better pacing and more to the point.

Obviously Endgame is a good movie and a big cinematic achievement, but it’s kind of a chore to watch, which Star Wars Rise of Skywalker isn’t. That one is just ‘fun’, which means I’d sooner rewatch that than Endgame. In fact I evidently already did. As a sidenote, I’ve been on a bit of a Marvel binge the last few months, having watched the ones I never watched before. Most notably, Captain Marvel, which I though was fun, Black Panther which I thought was so-so, and both Guardians of the Galaxy which I thought were great actually.
