A new movie starring James Dean will release. The creators use CGI and motioncapturing to create the scenes with James Dean and someone else is speaking in the voice samples.

The topic of bringing the actor who died in 1955 back on the screen is a bit controversial though:

I know. Just don't see the appeal of this guy over thousands of other dead actors.

Ok, before I watched the video, I assumed they were maybe using a bit of old, unused footage or something. But full CGI and someone else's voice eh? Out. Standing.

Wait... they are actually doing this? After Peter Cushing in Rogue One, I said to my friends that it was a sad thing and how morally questionable it was, how long it would take for Hollywood to lower their standards and do a film with James Dean in it?

Yeah. And it is a different step as before, because the CGI-copies so far were motioncaptured by the actors themself or for Cushing at least he played this role before. But for James Dean it is actually something complete new without his permission (obviously).
