GameXplain regarding mandatory experience share:

"At first I was unsure how to feel about this change as previous experience shares seemed to keep me from using my entire team. And while there's still an element of that here, it's been re-balanced in such a way that it never felt intrusive. Sword and Shield is completely built around this mechanic and it's all the better for it."

Less options is not better lol, and for an otherwise critical review (besides ignoring the elephant in the room) it's odd to see them push the falsity that experience share has been re-balanced and is somehow better than prior games as an excuse for it being mandatory now. The experience share is no different, this has been proven: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87F6vrdHGFE

Oh but I haven't played the game so facts and evidence be damned!

good reviews. I think I'll buy the double pack after I am finished with Luigis mansion 3 and Links awakening

Edit: This site needs to take that ignore button from behind a paywall badly >_<

It sucks Pokemon Sword and Shield don't have all of the Pokemon in the game, but that won't keep me from enjoying the game. Personally, I don't really care about catching all of the Pokemon in the game. What matters to me is the gym leaders, trainer battles, and the Elite Four. Hopefully, GameFreak decides to make the next Pokemon game more of an open world kind of game. The Wild Area looks like a nice experiment to that idea imo.

Nope.

1) I attacked people for judging a game they haven't played.

I say you attack people, you say nope, but then immediately admit to attacking people...

Yeah I'd stop responding too after that one. xD

Do yourself a favour and take an English class; it seems to me that you don't quite understand how the language works and the amount of time and effort it would take for me to explain how poorly you understood @Chrkeller is not really worth it. I will say, however, that based solely on what he's said and what you've said, he's right, you're wrong, and you're desperately clinging to your negative perceptions and cynicism in spite of his reason.

So you should probably give up. His stance of "I'll decide for myself after playing based on the experience and the total package" is objectively a better and more intelligent stance than your "Despite having not played the game, I already know it sucks because it has reportedly done things I don't like."

You'd never know this based on my responses in this thread, but I actually agree with like 99% of the criticisms of the game. I don't like that the dex was cut, I don't like that the game is more restrictive with its options, I don't like the removal of features, I don't like the simplification of the story, I don't like the lack of a post-game, I do think that GameFreak should have put a lot more effort into the animations, I do think this game could afford a budget 10x what it got, I do think that GameFreak is being lazy and disingenuous. I really do agree with every criticism and in many ways the game is definitely shaping up to be a disappointment...

...but I'm also a realist. I knew the dex cut would happen eventually and by this point well over half of the Pokemon in the game are redundant. Until I actually see how the game plays, I can't know if this was actually a good decision or not. I think it sucks I can't have a handful of my favourites, but it doesn't bother me that I am expected to play a new game. This isn't an expansion pack, it's a sequel.

When it comes to options and features, it is a little unfortunate that the game holds your hand a bit more, but like some reviewers have said it sounds like it makes more sense this way. Again, I don't know if I actually like it or not, I just don't like the SOUNDS of it. All of the features, the simplified story, the lack of post-game content...all of this might not matter if the game is still fun. I hear all the complaints and find myself a bit apprehensive, but then I see videos of the game being played and I imagine myself in the shoes of the player and I can't help but feel that warm fuzzy wave of nostalgia. This is still a Pokemon game, it's still almost certain to be a lot of fun, and I genuinely feel that the people who are whining are the people who take the game entirely too seriously.

Do I feel that GameFreak can and should use those billions of dollars to create more Pokemon models? yeah, they should. but at the same time, why? it'd be nice and they've spent the last 20 years overdelivering on game features and pokemon, miraculously bringing all prior pokemon to the new games without issue, but that should rightly be seen as a generous exception, not the default. We're not entitled to the full dex any more than you're entitled to Mewtwo in Brawl or T-Hawk in Street Fighter IV or whatever (I don't know if T-Hawk was in IV). Why spend 150 million to develop a game if statistics show that like less than 1% of the audience uses Bidoof and thus you could get the same sales for half that budget?

Yeah, it'd be nice to see them overdelivering again and we all know they could do it, but we're not entitled to the world. No amount of people bitching at me and claiming I'm missing the point is going to change that. It'd be nice, but we are not entitled to have it all.

We just aren't.

And you (As well as so many others here) are so hopped up on hate that you can't (or refuse to) see that. I do not like a lot of the changes and I do agree that GameFreak could have done more, but none of that changes the fact that Pokemon Sword and Shield are almost certainly going to still be a lot of fun, are still going to carry the spirit of the games forward, and is going to be a stepping stone in going forward. That's just the reality of the situation. Hopefully Sword and Shield do well, so when the next wave or gen comes around, they'll do better. In the mean time, I and millions of others are still excited to play a Pokemon game on a home console.

Are you his alt? Seriously, you both think you can make claims and expect everyone to take them as fact without explanation and despite rebuttal, then you think this doesn't make you irrational.

I should give up what exactly? Are you even paying attention? He came at me, I pointed out his nonsense, and then the discussion ended. Also no, blind faith is not more intelligent than informing yourself, I mean what the fuck, that's self explanatory. xD

The rest your wall of text is the same "Game Freak has been overdelievering!" justification for lower standards you've said before. Good luck getting anyone to believe that one.

You know what's really going to be interesting? Seeing how quickly different outlets put up reviews for the game, after it releases on Friday. It'll be a great way to show which reviewers play the full game and which ones just speed through it, or play halfway through.

Oh, you posted your review at Noon on Friday? Guess you didn't lay the entire game.

Oh, you posted a review on Saturday afternoon? Perhaps you finished the game.

Oh, you didn't get around to posting a review until Monday or Tuesday? You definitely finished the game, and were thorough when playing.

The last good Pokémon was Black & White to me, not that the latest have been bad. But they are only so so. GameFreak has no idea what to do anymore imo.

I think it'll be hard for GF to make anyone happy. Pokemon does not operate like Zelda, Mario, or any other conventional video game franchise. It's a multimedia empire. So its both a blessing and a curse, however you want to put it.

With how TPC, Nintendo, and GF operate, in terms o the games, the anime, the TCG, the merchandise, etc.; having to keep up with all of that can be hard to develop grand games, even under a 2-3 year development cycle and having to release them under an annual/bi-annual basis.

The only years where there isn't a Pokemon game (new gen, remake, third version, or sequel) are:

1997, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2015

They would have to rework how they model their releases from all their multimedia projects.

How long can the anime be? It usually lasts for about 3 years until the next generation to align with the upcoming new generation of games.

How will TPC continue with the merchandise and TCG series without a mainline Pokemon game for maybe 3-5 years, instead of 1-2 years?

Pokemon has garnered billions from all aspects of their media projects using the model that they are using as of now.

That means the likeliness of remakes (i.e., Gen IV), third versions, sequels, are gonna be lower than usual.

But again, are there fans who are ok with no new Pokemon for longer than 2 years?

I don't know if there is a simple answer to all of this. Because not only Game Freak has to agree with it, the Pokemon Company and Nintendo also have to agree. Nintendo is the publisher of the games and I doubt they used a laissez-faire approach when it comes to the games. Why keep the strict November releases?

This seems to be just your go to thing.  The simple fact is he did not say he didn't attack people.  He said nope indicating that he was disagreeing with some part of your post. Since the word nope absent of context is vague and unclear, he then provided two more specific statements precisely defining his disagreement.  His clarification made it clear that "nope" was not implying that he never attacked people for any reason.

But hey, responding to what you wanted him to say is much easier than responding to what was actually said.  Of course, I'm probably just nitpicking, because anything that disagrees with you tends to fall into that category.
