It's hard to follow that rule when no one else does. Do you really keep playing nice when someone is up in your face being an asshole? And I mean in real life where you can't just ignore people or swivel in your chair away from the computer screen.

You get back at them the most when you calmly put them down, whenever you let yourself be upset you just become their puppet to trigger whenever they want.

That said,i understand some situations are different yes but overall you can still try to be nice in general.

But they can take your calmly putting them down as weakness and mark as you as easy prey, someone they know they can harass without consequence, I've experienced this firsthand.

I don't believe you should be nice to assholes, that will only reinforce their behavior and may even cause things to escalate, but that's just my opinion. If your way has worked for you then by all means keep at it!

When I was 4 years old a 2 tone cement pole that my grandfather was transporting in his truck came free and dropped one step away from me. I am convinced there are countless parallel universes where 4 year old me got crushed at that moment.

I know, i've experienced that too.

Depends on the positition you are in and experience you have on how you are able to handle those situations,in a position of authority you just need to verbally slap their hand when they go out of line but if you do not have that then sometimes a more confrontational approach is needed.

When i calmly put them down i do not really consider them thinking it is nice,it needs to have some form of impact but you do not need to become a jerk in order to do that.

I went to prison

I'm not afraid to speak my mind, say it like it is and if need be, respond in kind

Yeah i mostly do that too but i really not want to insult or be rude to the people i talk to so i always try to be respectfull, honesty is important but treat others like you want to be treated.

Yes, that is the definition of responding in kind.

EDIT: Though a proclivity for diplomacy can't hurt either

I once hopped a freight train for 300 miles. I had hoped to go further, but my partner in crime got overzealous at the Oakland train yard and we both got arrested instead. Still worth it!

I'm into vore.

Vore is a strnge fetish, is basically about being eaten alive. There are many kind of vore, in my case i just like being eaten by a girl.

I don't like dogs but when I met my wife, she had a huge pitbull. After some months, we really bonded. Unfortunately, the dog's health was deteriorating due to old age. She wouldn't eat, drink, or anything. She would just lay in the yard and pant. I eventually had to put her down.

Cried like a baby.
