Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox is the 87th Most Valuable Brand in the world

You can't argue this is about revenue when PS made more than 2x as much as Xbox just last quarter, even with all that Minecraft money. And it's not about mindshare, when both PS and Nintendo have more of it. Which, as I said, Minecraft doesn't add to it, since no one associates Minecraft with Xbox. All signs point to this being a bullshit list from a questionable company.

This isnt about mindshare. Regardless if people think Minecraft isnt associated with Xbox in the eyes of the customers, its the fact Minecraft still rakes in tons of profit for MS/Xbox.

Maybe that Azure is associated with Xbox might also play a roll with Xboxes value as a company. Owning Minecraft under the Xbox Umbrella is also a huge value increase since that IP alone is worth $2.5b - $3.0b alone.

Regardless i didn't write the article but good to see people replying to it.

Even if they didn't own all those brands they are still bigger than BMW and Mercedes Benz.  Just the VW Golf alone has sold over 30 million units since its introduction in 1974.

Most likely. Although in terms of brand alone, as opposed to the company as a whole, I don't think there's too much in it between Volkswagen, BMW & Mercedes. It's pretty clear that the source in the OP isn't particularly credible though.

That top 100 list makes no sense outside of the top 10 on that list.  No way should the Home Depot and Charter be ranked above Walmart.  Also PesiCo is bigger then The Coca Cola Company so Pepsi should be in the top 100 if Coca Cola is.  Also LG is almost as big as Samsung and the Hyundai Motor Group is the third highest motor manufacturer by volume after Toyota and Volkswagen so LG and Hyundai should have been on the list.  The VW Group manufactured 10.38 million vehicles in 2017 which is over twice as many vehicles as BMW and Mercedes Benz combined since they both only made slightly more then 2.5 million vehicles that year.

The thing I'll always say about stuff that Microsoft has in the pipeline to come out....

Never hold your breath, the only things they have a proven track record this whole gen has been promises and cancellations.

How can I be a fan of something which was canned? Obviously it looked awesome at E3 and I own MC on PC/PS3/4/Vita/Switch if you're asking me why I would be interested in another canned MS project.

I'll be fine though, plenty of other titles to play from companies who tend to release things they hype up at E3.

They've removed the video focusing on just that update but it did look quite nice in this hype package. Dem God rays

I would probably suggest that this is the sum of all parts for creating the overall brand impression taking into consideration all the good initiatives in place for future value and the propensity to make money. Things like the innovative subscription service model , playability on pc and other devices such as mobile as well as the benefits cloud will provide to the platform. The article sais as much in this regard.

Geez, how could they let something like that happen?  If they can't release a graphics mod for a very popular game, I seriously have even more doubts about how they handle their studios going forward.

Ok great, Xbox fans must be happy at their current sales, exclusives, and quality , and their current performance on revenue. They can stick to their TV TV TV and probably focus more on the cloud and DRM, I am sure that what elevates them to be better that Playstation.

To bad Playstation is pretty at disadvantages compared to Xbox brand, Playstation now are below Xbox in terms of brand resulting on small market share and less sales and revenue. Those exclusives must be better on Xbox and a lot of exclusives coming to Xbox, damn you Sony .
