Which political party do you believe you can have the best representation in.  The GOP or the Dems.  That is the real question you should be asking.  Change doesn't happen overnight but there is definitely one party that accept change better than others and also give better chances.  The chance to get better representation is the key you are looking for.  Not voting is definitely a vote for Trump because the GOP is hopping Dem turn out is smaller.  Its why they look for many ways to suppress the vote.  Smaller voting pools mean better chance for GOP candidate.

I believe the Democratic party can be salvaged and I believe in regular everyday people in the party. My problem is the party establishment needs to change and listen to the people rather than special interests. You're right, change doesn't happen overnight. Even if Bernie was the nominee, nothing would change if we, the people, don't organize and put pressure on those in power. It will always be a struggle but I believe the Democrats, once pushed in the right direction, can be something better than it is now. There's no hope for the Republican party, we'll just have to drag them left kicking and screaming.

The only way you get change is when you get new blood.  At least you have a chance for representation in the Dems since the old guard is either dying out, getting out or being replaced by new young faces.  In the GOP, I continue to see people continue to elect those same old hats that have been there for decades.  That is pretty much the difference I see in the 2 parties.  You see more old gray haired men in the GOP that doesn't seem to change while I see fresh new faces in the Dem every election.

I miss Obama. Grace, integrity, and a tireless pursuit to helping others. One of the best politicians of my lifetime.

Good news that Biden is working with Bernie to appeal to his supporters.

It's such hypocrisy to say believe all women, #MeToo and all of that crap and then support Joe Biden, not to mention the obvious dementia. But i wouldn't expect anything else from the left at this point, idiots

I can't believe three people agree with that statement. Obama was a silver-tongued fraud lmao.

Well, while he's far from being a great candidate, he's still by far the lesser evil compared to Trump.

But I really wish the US didn't have winner takes all, as this removes all (viable) alternatives from the playing field. Taking a third option would be by far the best choice, but there ain't really one apart from not voting, which I consider the same as throwing your right to vote right out of the window.

If you live in a state that's safe Dem or Rep, you can certainly go out and vote for a third party if you prefer, as it wouldn't affect the outcome but would show that you consider both equally unelectable, and would be what I would and what people should do in such a position, btw. But in swing states, it might be best to swallow ones pride and vote for Biden despite his shortcoming because the alternative is simply way worse.

As such, I wouldn't call it hypocrisy, just pragmatism. But I can certainly see where you're coming from with your critique.

While I do agree with you on the whole, that's oversimplifying it. Age doesn't really matter if the politician is acting in the best interest of special interests rather than their constituents. Case and point, Pete Buttigieg. AOC wouldn't be the same AOC if she didn't do her job in accordance with the will of the people.

I think we need to stop that "lesser evil" nonsense, when it comes to his rape allegations. Someone who was raped by Biden wouldn't consider him the "lesser evil" but an evil abuser same as Trump. They're both evil, both part of the same problem in that regard.

100% agree on that. I consider Biden the lesser evil because his laundry list of bad stuff and number of skeletons in the closet are shorter compared to Trump, but for a raping victim both would certainly be on equal level. I think it all depends on how those skeletons in the closet affect someone personally to see how evil they find one or another.

Ahh yea, I understand. And @bolded I think that as well.
