But PS4 beats the Vita....

VITA is dead, as in no more are being produced

Except ps4 kicked vita ass since 2017, even before vita was stop production

If the ps4 had the Vita library and the Vita had the ps4 library the Vita would have sold 20m and the ps4 would have flopped even harder then the Wii U.

Yeah, and? As if Switch have the ps4 library...

If switch had ps4 library it would probably not be doing any better in japan at least. The games switch has gotten so far are much bigger sellers in Japan then what the ps4 had early on.

I disagree

Monster Hunter and Persona alone would have quite some push for the Switch in their pocket

Exactly. Being able to play on the go is not enough reason for it to sell extremely well in Japan. It also needs the awesome games for it to sell.

He is probably comparing the first 2 years of PS4 and first 2 years of Switch. MH came out in PS4's 4th year.

But i think someone here said as long as it is a portable, it is destined to sell well in Japan just like the Switch no matter what?

Why is the switch doing so well without big releases. Imagine what it'll be like when the heavy hitters start coming out this year.

That's what makes me keep wondering about the world wide numbers its pulling in. We really haven't seen anything of substance these year except ports or re-releases but it keeps chugging along. Only thing I can think of its riding off the wave of older titles(mario,zelda,mk8,lets go,etc),which saying it out loud like that just screams ''duh''.

Well, yeah, just checked the lineup from the 2 first years and almost nothing worthwhile came out in that time, and what was worthwhile is either already on the Switch or announced for it. Except the first non-release title, FF XIV: A Realm Reborn, I couldn't find anything to seriously push the PS4 which the Switch doesn't have or get.

But damn did Sony fuck up that Japan launch. Even the Wii U didn't have to wait for 2 entire months (February 22 to April 14) before the first non-launch game came out there. And that was just one game, the next one came 3 weeks later, and then 3 weeks later 2 other games. No wonder the Wii U outsold the PS4 there for a while.
