I had my doubts as well. Not even a fiber connection will make this work. When the time comes and they force it down our throats, they can go screw themselves.
Yh.... it just boils down to there being more "handshakes". Locally, you hit a button, it goes to your console, video gets sent to your display, done. With streaming you hit a button, it goes to a client, that gets sent via your internet (ping and all) to a server, server accepts input and makes video, sends that back through internet t you client, client processes video, sends it to your display.
Only way t make this whole thin faster is by eliminating steps not by increasing internet speeds because as it stands we have internet speeds that are good enough for streaming. Even at compressed 4k.
