It's technically not Nintendo land.

That PS2 audience transitioned directly into the psp audience.

The current PS4 base has pretty much hit the ceiling, but it has that ceiling because it's a home console in an age when some houses don't even HAVE a TV.

Ok, I can see where the PS2 base was split between PSP & PS3 but where did it go after that?

PSP+PS3 did over 30 million, Vita+PS4 is currently under 14 million.

All to mobile spending of course. All consoles are affected.

Wii+DS 45m, Wii U+ 3DS 28m, Switch ???

The japanese market ain't what it used to be. I blame mobile "gaming".

I think the Switch is probably Japan's best chance at a recovery, but it isn't good enough yet..

Switch is still expensive (and not as handheld) as 3ds and vita.

A cheaper mini switch, along with animal crossing and new pokemon gen can put it to a good form.

I'm aware of that, it was a rhetorical question

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Just one week and the PS4 is already almost back to its normal baseline. Things aren’t lookin’ too good for the system over there.
The #1 spot should be all Switch from this point onwards until PS5 launches.

pretty decent numbers for nsmbu wounder how is it doing ww

Restock of Pokemon hardware bundle.

That would make sense.

They're on their phones. The same place as the long sales in the past two generations.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

With digital 15-20 percent of 700k would put KH 3 near 840k in Japan. It’s likely to cross a million there with dígital sales. Unfortunate that PS4 sales are so low tbh, the switch is taking over that market rapidly.
