No big deal, it's gonna recover eventually.

I was thinking announce the delay Thursday morning, and then later in the day announce a Direct for Friday |
I guess the issue is Nintendo, from my recollection, never released a direct on a Friday before. Also, apparently, in a business sense, it made sense to post the news on a Friday due to how the business cycle works. Once the weekend is over, it becomes old news instead of being dwelled at for the whole week.

So it's like I said, and shareholders are just a bunch of suits who don't know or care about video games? |
I believe yes, for the majority of them. The huge proof is what happened for the year 2018 with the share price. Most of them have not seen the strategy of Nintendo which was to hold 9 months with only Kirby, Octopath, Mario Tennis and Labo, and drop the 3 massive loads on each months of Q3 to maximise the sales and finish 1st at the end.
This kind of stuff means nothing. Nintendo loses stock when Shigeru eats popcorn off the floor.

If this is true, investers once again don't know what they're doing. Since when has Metroid been a strong seller, much less a Smash level hit? |
People mention that Metroid isn't a software seller a lot, but surely when compared to most 2-4 million sellers from Nintendo it probably sells a lot more hardware, right? Like .. I would find it a little odd if Kirby and Yoshi sell as much hardware as Metroid does. Kirby might beat Metroid in Japan but still.
Is ninty in line whit the 20M on fiscal year? I think they will be under 20 M, and this also will be bad news for than. ( i mean, imho they will have amazing numbers, 18 -19M, but still under 20M.)

How do they feel if he sneezes then? |
It depends. If he does the arm-extended Vampire sneeze, it's only a -10%. If he sneezes with a tissue, it's a -8%. But if he accidentally sneezes without coverage, it's usually a -20%. Though in the summer of 2015 it went up as high as -25%

I bet this is true. Metroid is kind of distinct from other Nintendo franchises. It is sci-fi and tends to be edgier than the standard Nintendo stuff. Kirby and Yoshi kind of come across and kiddy and wholesome much like Mario does. My impression is that the Metroid fanbase is smallish but extremely passionate.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6
My Threads:
Master Thread, Game of the Year/Decade
Switch Will Be #1 All Time
Zelda Will Outsell Mario (Achieved)
How Much Will MH Rise sell?
My Bet With Metallox

Yeah, and I have a feeling it could be a pretty decent system seller if it had good marketing. I mean, it's a sci fi exploration game with shooter elements. But even without capturing the general audience, it's so different from other Nintendo franchises that I do think it sells fans on the hardware. Don't think that's really the case for most of the platformers.
