You despise more equality?

Democratic Socialism has been around a very long time in the highly economically efficient Northern European countries and it as made them better in almost all indicators of social equality than the US

They have generally always had more social equality than the US because they deal with far fewer differences in race, religion, culture, etc.

Those northern countries also enjoy a free market based  on the voluntary paying for services rendered at prices determined by the marker and business aka capitalism. Lots of socialistic government programs though. Which is fine, so long as it doesnt violate rights.

Try not to get bogged down in unproven excuses like "fewer races and religions" or you won't as a society move forward socially, its self defeating to keep make these excuses, give yourselves that chance to change

I do agree with her 70% tax on the rich though. After about $80,000 a year there's no point in making any more money. If you aren't happy with that, you'll never be happy. People that make millions and millions of dollars have a mental disorder. They have a hole in their lives that they keep trying to fill with money and power. So yeah, after your first 10 million you get taxed 70% of your income.

Nobody should make more than $80,000 because who really needs more money then that? That way everyone who now makes more then that, can change their minds, quit their existing jobs, and go after lesser demanding jobs for similar money. When they don't get those positions, or they push people out of those positions, one way or another, someone ends up sitting around collecting pogey. With no one doing the highly intellectual, overly demanding, life risking work, etc, the economy crashes, and everyone ends up with nothing. Who really needs anything more than food and shelter?

Venezuela is also more socialist compared to the US.

So are France and Italy.

But these countries are not doing as well as us.

Increased taxes dont push society forward, people push it. You misunderstand. Social equality has been less of a problem in nordic countries because socially they are all very similar.

In the US: west coast people are different than southerners, black communities are different from white, Christians are different from Muslims, etc. The US has had a lot more to deal with because it struggles between being a melting pot and a salad bowl. Socially speaking it is progressing with plenty of room for improvement. But government is rarely the catalyst for the change. Typically its everyday people with the government coming in at the end.

Hey all, I may or may not respond in this thread. See you in happier threads.

Venezuela is a strong case against corrupt governments, Italy and France are still better in many ways than the US but also have serious political issues

Democratic Socialism is just a frame work, it takes a competent stable Government to make it work as intended as generally seen in the Northern European countries

I think relying on the government is very dangerous. It only takes one ruler to mess everything up. Also i dont believe the bs about how everything is better in Nordic countries. Everything costs more.

Venezuela is the only nation in this list that uses socialism for their economy. The others have very socialistic tendencies mixed with capitalism in their governments and are using capitalism for their economy. Just like the US, just more so. Happy day, they can be compatible!
