Finally a reply for cart vs disc, I think cart is the way to stay for portable games, though... I would like the next ones to be a bit bigger, I've lost my games sometimes (always found them) and its just not as easy to keep up with.

I'm pretty sure the DS will surpass the PS2 in about 3-3.5 years from now with a few price cuts ($99 and then $79) a few more colors, bundles and of course end it with the redesign and get another 70 million sales. It's possible

the DS will easily pass the GBA
next stop is the 120 mill Game Boy sales

I like carts better. I guess I could deal with disks but they would need a protective coating. Carts are not expensive like in the SNES/ N64 days. They load quicker, use less power, and make less noise.

everything should just be downloadable and if you run outta space, they can have mini flash drive type things.

I think Nintendo will keep going with the game paks they are still hard to pirate without sometihng like the R4. Nintendo will just develope another cart that makes it even harder to pirate.

IMO Sonys next portable system will still be based on UMD technology , just for retrocompatibilitys sake . If not , than 4 GB memory cards will take its spot ...

The DS has alot of room to grow in the West, but I think it's saturated the Japanese market, and crested it's growth. The DS is down 50% YOY vs. last year...Not a good sign if you think the DS is going to keep up at a breakneck pace.

seemed like a long long time for DS to get to 70 million huh?! yeah and PSP doing gr8 also to just cling on to something... has really good sales, too bad DS is a huge freakin monster!

Unless a new sexy slim model is released.... and a game called Dragon Quest IX.
