The Switch has now been on the market - and in our very grateful hands - for just over a year and a half, but it's already amassed a staggering collection of 1,000 games. To celebrate, Nintendo has shared a brand new trailer showing just some of the highlights.

Now that we have that out of the way. Incredible how fast that went. I think the WiiU only had 761 at the end of its life. Truly remarkable.

Edit: I just came to realize that I own about 10-12% of the total library

I have 8 games.

Almost 2 months without buying a game just after Spider-Man and RDR2, and it might take longer still, next game will either be Let's Go Pikachu or SSBU.

I don't know if this is something that should be celebrated. I have always thought quality over quantity is more important, and when there is just so many games to look through it's hard to know what is good and what is not

I support getting as much software as possible on all devices. I wish they would open the door to non gaming content as well. That said, it is just a numbers game with PR like this. I check the store every week, and most of it (just like on PSN and XBS), is absolute garbage. I would be more excited if this 1,000 peices of software was a range of great Apps and Games, as oppsoed to a few great games, and 100's of worthless games that some unfortunate people will regret buying. That goes for all three platform holders, but more so Sony and Nintendo, because Microsoft is at least open to more software than just games.

But most Switch owners own PS4 or Xbox .

I work 45 hours a week. So no.

One day I will though, when they invent the hyperbolic time chamber.

The cringe will continue until the Switch discontinues.

Ok and how many of those are mediocre indie games nobody knows about and overpriced ports?
