Not reaching sales targets and losing momentum are two different things. If Switch sells below 15m or so for the fiscal year, THAT would be losing momentum.

Forza Ultimate edition sales were not going to effect HW sales. Only hardcore Forza fans were going to buy the ultimate edition which obviously means they own the console already.

If nothing else I give Sony credit for solid shipment predictions.  Usually right on the money.  This says to me that they are pretty in-tune with the market itself, and have very clear understanding of what the demand for their product really is.  Microsoft predicted 1 billion consoles sold this gen... a billion.  Nintendo, with 3 months left in calendar and 6 months in fiscal year 2018 will need to put the pedal to the medal if they want to reach 20 million.  Something like 12 million units.  Which I frankly don't think is possible.   But if it does, it will have to outsell the PS4 to have a chance.

Xbox had a 8 month streak of being up yoy, and now that got broken too (just barely).

I expect PS4 to take October without breaking a sweat, because of the COD/RDR marketing deal. Super Mario Party and Forza Horizon 4 will do well, but not nearly enough to deal any real damage to PS4. Xbox had battlefield marketing, but now that got delayed too.

Going by the tool though with Smash pre-orders the Switch has a pretty comfortable lead so far in Oct. So I won't say without breaking a sweat....unless the tool is wrong lol. But October will definitely be a very interesting month.

sales are down 16% this month compared to last year September, and with reports of october looking weak it's fair to say it's losing momentum.

20 million for this FISCAL year, so until the end of March 2019.

I will just say this man. It doesn't look like it is losing momentum to me. But more like the calm before the storm.......with Smash coming and that Pokemon bundle(even if it isn't a mainline game) I am sure things will pick up. And it was not most people that predicted that the Switch would destroy the PS4 this year. Just a few diehard Nintendo fans and clearly they were wrong. Let's not confuse the minority with the majority on this.

it will do the same numbers from last year imo in the holidays, reports from insiders is pokemon hype is weak.
