PS4 total sales for this title must dwarf the xbox one's by a factor of like 1 : 10 globally.

The site sales for fifa 18, 11m for PS4 v 3m for the Xbox, so yeah PS4 very heavily favoured.

The PS4 version outsold the Xbox One version while the Xbox One version had official bundles and marketing. You know this, Kerotan. Now the tables have been turned and PS has the marketing deal back, it's not really surprising to see the PS4 version maintain a healthy lead over other platforms (Specifically legacy and Switch platforms) and probably extend that lead as the PS4's actual marketshare also increases.

Why are people acting surprised by this, or trying to make up silly excuses? Just look at how FIFA 18, FIFA 17, FIFA 16, etc. have all performed on specific platforms. You're on a sales website.

Worldwide, FIFA 18 on PS4 sold more in a single week than the Xbox One and Switch versions sold lifetime combined going by data available on this website.

Isn't the Switch version still based on the same engine as the last gen versions?

Basically EA does the same as they did during the Wii days, where they used a same build of Fifa for both Wii and PS2. As such, EA will produce those versions as long as they have the Switch to feed them.

Did you forget what you originally said? I'm saying fifa is big enough to not be affected by a game with the launch sales of a forza which btw is a racing game and this is football. I doubt forza is the reason.

Its big enough take off a small chunk off fifa xbox sales. It would be 40 percent xbox share without the horizon 4.

You forgot that racing games are big in UK. Evem games like F1 which are niche stadestide is very popular there.

spiderman was three weeks ago, while Horizon is more or less in the same week. Apples to oranges comparison here.

Yeah but you could just as easily argue 400k or so people in the uk recently bought spiderman and now some won't buy fifa. Forza is a much smaller release.
