What is it with twisting all these classical rpgs that happend to be turn based, into action rpg monstrosity?
Keep Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Pokemon turn based.

Thank you!
Pokemon works well with turn based, I cant even imagine how crappy it would be without.
Why "fix" something that isnt broke? like Change for the sake of change is a virtue or something,... its not.

Pokemon concept works because its turn based.

Why fix something that isn't broken. The only developers that think turn based is dead are SE, and even they're starting to realize it's still alive and kicking.

I bet both FF15 and F7R would have been better as turn based games.

No thank you. That's what spin-offs like Pokken are for.

It's not like Pokemon even has a sales problem when it's been selling better than ever this generation. So what's the point or need to shake things up for no reason and risk everything? Because of some vocal minority fanbase on the internet that probably don't even care about Pokemon games anymore or in first place?

I'm not a huge fan of pokémon, but to mess with the core mechanics like that feels very wrong. I feel like any step towards action would mean having to program multiple fighting styles to each pokemon type, which would probably mean fewer new pokemon and shallow real-time combat

I make game analyses on youtube:

FFVI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSO6n8kNCwk
Shadow of the Colossus: https://youtu.be/9kDBFGw6SXQ
Silent Hill 2: https://youtu.be/BwISCik3Njc
BotW: https://youtu.be/4auqRSAWYKU

Yes, but their would be no proper way to do it.

Love the pun in the title

So there has been a lot of discussion regarding the future of JRPGs. One thing that has been pointed out pretty consistently is the evolution of the genre, which in it's most relevant forms now leans more towards Action RPGs rather than turn-based ones.

Action-RPGs are a basically a completely different gameplay than turn-based RPG. Your question about Pokemon turning into an ARPG is like asking if Doom should become a visual novel or Dark Souls becoming a shooter.

Sure, I have no problem with an ARPG Pokemon - as a spinoff. They should still make turn-based Pokemon games though.

Should Pokemon become shit?

No, what a silly question.

Hehehe.

Why would Gamefreak use 22 years to fine tuning the battle style, just to throw it away? Keep the battle system, and just make it fast and flashy

Yes, that's important. Gamefreak has found a formula to have competitive fights in turn-based RPGs.
