-I doubt we’ll get an AC announcement at an E3.
-A small announcement during the E3 direct ? Why not

So what's the truth, or are you actually saying the E3 direct isn't apart of E3 lel? A game can be revealed at E3 even if it's not on the showfloor at all as has been the case before. Nintendo's new way of framing their E3s hasn't changed this nor that their biggest games get an E3 appearance before release.

What I meant is that AC, while a big seller, won't replace a game like Smash, Zelda or Mario in term visibility on a show like E3 which are way more adapted to this kind of presentation. I’m not saying that they can’t announce it during the next E3, but we shoulde not expect more the same kind of unveiling Kirby or Yoshi had.

E3 Direct or a regular Direct, the nature of the franchise won’t matter on which kind of presentation we will see it for the first, which is why I think we will at least have a teaser before june next year.

Ah, well that doesn't really have much to do with what I said. Combined with your second paragraph, did you forget why we're having this discussion? You said Animal Crossing announcement tomorrow is possible cause the game could release in March. That's why I brought up E3 because that would mean a big new game skipping E3, something that's rarely ever done. I never said AC must first be revealed at E3, infact I doubt it will at this point.

Considering how blazingly fast Nintendo gets through announcements in their directs, i doubt the three leaked things (Megaman demo shadow drop, FFXV pocket, Civilization) will even get close to taking up even 10 minutes of that direct, especially when two of those three are ports, and the third is just an anncounement for a demo.

Just my two cents, though.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

If they waited until a day there were no natural disasters in the world, we would never get a Direct ever again...

Do then why does the Japan earthquake get special treatment?

Nintendo is Japan, isn't it obvious? If your country meet an earthquake that affect many people, you wouldn't want a company ignore that and show a direct to celebrate their new games as well as online service right after, right? Not to mention many places in JP lost electricity.

Oh I can't wait for the inevitable 'Rate the Nintendo Direct' thread where we will judge it not for the content but rather for everything that was not shown.

Nintendo might be Japan, but it has a fanbase across the world.

If you paid attention to this conversation before it got here, I was questioning why they delay for the earthquake, but don't care when the US about to get by hit by a hurricane.

Believe it or not, there are many Nintendo fans there too. Shocking, right?

The culture in America is different.  We tend to have more of a "show must go on" attitude.  I can't really recall events major or minor being cancelled in the event of a tragedy or natural disaster, unless there were physical reasons the event couldn't go on.  I'm not sure how things are in Japan, but in the US at least, I don't think it's considered inappropriate or in poor taste.  So, I can't see any reason to not delay it other than some strange notion of equality that ignores cultural distinctions.

Maybe tomorrow we'll see the new Retro Studios game. There were so many rumors before E3 that it became weird not to see him in it. Tomorrow would be a good opportunity.

I do not know how big or important is the announcement of Civilization VI but I hope that Nintendo has reserved some more surprise regarding the third party. By the way, at this point I'm surprised that Capcom has not yet announced the twenty-ninth port of Resident Evil 4, this time for Switch! it will be tomorrow?

That really depends from when Retros game will be launched, if their game is launching in second half of 2019. they will not show it tomorow.

Of Course that we will have more suprises, IMO in worst case half of 3rd party announcements leaked. Maybe your wish will be granted. ;)

It'd be nice to see what Retro Studios has been doing besides porting Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze to Switch.

I have a personal theory that they are co-developing Metroid Prime 4 with Bandai-Namco.  They keep posting prime rib on their Twitter account. They've been completely silent for quite a while on their next game.  They and Metroid were both a no-show at E3.  This isn't that far fetched when you consider they had three studios working on Other M, a title I doubt is ambitious as this game will be.  I also think the hype for this would go through the roof if true, and Nintendo would hold on to that piece of the puzzle for quite a while.

Even if they really co-developing Metroid Prime 4 they need to have at least another just their project along MP4.

So apparently a writer for Eurogamer and some insiders on ResetERA have hinted at an Animal Crossing reveal for tomorrow.
No way, me thinks they woulda revealed it at E3 if they were going to announce it outside of it's release year. Stop trying to get my hopes up! xP

If they intend to release it in first half of next year totally make sense, so if they really show game tomorow I am willing to bet it will be released in first half of 2019.

Its obvious that E3 is not so important for Nintendo like was before and that now we have huge announcement during Direct also, so if some announcement and release plans for some games dont fit with E3 showing, they will just not show that game at E3. And it's totally possible they show AC tomorrow and release it on Spring 2019.

In worst case maybe it leaked around half of announcements, there will definitely be some more surprises left.
