Nintendo is Japan, isn't it obvious? If your country meet an earthquake that affect many people, you wouldn't want a company ignore that and show a direct to celebrate their new games as well as online service right after, right? Not to mention many places in JP lost electricity.

Nintendo might be Japan, but it has a fanbase across the world.

If you paid attention to this conversation before it got here, I was questioning why they delay for the earthquake, but don't care when the US about to get by hit by a hurricane.

Believe it or not, there are many Nintendo fans there too. Shocking, right?

The culture in America is different.  We tend to have more of a "show must go on" attitude.  I can't really recall events major or minor being cancelled in the event of a tragedy or natural disaster, unless there were physical reasons the event couldn't go on.  I'm not sure how things are in Japan, but in the US at least, I don't think it's considered inappropriate or in poor taste.  So, I can't see any reason to not delay it other than some strange notion of equality that ignores cultural distinctions.
