It’s a super expensive peripheral. What sort of numbers were people looking for?

No other $300-400 peripherals i can think of so its kind of uncharted territory. Overall id say its decent, not terrible but not amazing.

Kinect was $150 alone or bundled with 360 for $300 and did 18 million in just over 2 years but it was half the price and appealed to a completely different audience so not really an accurate comparison.

I've actually really enjoyed PSVR from the games I've played/own/owned. Genuinely would like to see them expand upon the tech and concept heading into PS5

Hasn't Gear VR sold around 8 million headsets?

Gear VR is regularly given away for free with Samsung Galaxy phones. There are dozens of unopened Gear VR headsets for sale on craigslist in my city at any one time. It's hard to see Gear VR numbers as relevant.

Ya my wife and i each got one for free when we upgraded our phones a couple years ago. We tried them once and never used them again, i recently tried to sell them online for $15 each or $25 for both and got zero offers.

why would I care about "the most diehard fans" of anything, why do you? there are fanatic individuals for pretty much everything and in 99.999% of the cases that is of no consequence to the world - call it a gut feeling, but until shown otherwise I'd group VR fanaticsm with the harmless kinds

So why do I care? I don't. I just think it's pretty funny to watch people act like PSVR is the pinnacle of gaming as we know it today, and it's taking the industry by storm, when  that's clearly not the case.

So you keep spouting that nonsense, yet I can’t anyone in this thread acting like that. What made you so bitter? Is it really the fact that, by your words, VR disappointed you again and again? Is it possible that it was exactly YOU who had wrong expectations and that’s why you keep on projecting? And now you don’t want everyone else to be hopeful about it?

Those people sound just as ridiculous like you when you’re saying it’s not “there yet”. Everyone who says this after playing a round of Moss or Wipeout in VR is lying to himself.

Believe it or not, just because there are some people exaggerating and overreacting you don’t need to be the one to constantly counteract.

You do realize you're one of those people who are exaggerating and overreacting, right? You literally just did it in the bolded above.

How is this an overreaction? Literally everyone I showed these two games to was blown away and came off as a believer. They are full experiences with great visuals and smooth controls. As “there yet” as a video game/VR experience can be. That’s a fact underlined by many great reviews out there. There definitely ARE games, where controls, tracking or graphics quality get in the way of the experience. Those two as examples are none of them.

As someone else has said before...you’ve made up your mind already. Nothing is going to change your mind if this two games don’t.

He overreacts on everything. His comeback for whenever someone disagrees with is him is "you don't know what you're talking about" or "you haven't even played x game/console" or "you're lying to yourself" or "you're a fanboy/hater", in an effort to devalidate opinions that differ from his own.

It must be a funny coincidence that those complaining heavily in this thread don’t even own the system.

I wonder how many Rifts and Vives Sony sold.

I would say none. I don't even think there are that many people that would see PSVR ads and think "I need to buy Rift or Vive", plus also don't think there are many that bought or tried PSVR and decided to buy either. That is clearly visible by PSVR selling much more than both combined.

Have you tried Moss yet?  It is very well done and quite engaging!

I'll still wait for the next gen of VR headset (And maybe even the 3rd gen before even owning another one). Tech is not there yet to make it feel like your completly immersed in the games you're playing ... not to say it ain't, but it could be largely improved on.

Well it is immersive for several games. But yes it still can improve a lot. You are probably right that only by 3rd gen (like 10 years) we are going to see very quality situation.

Here in South America it's too expensive to buy one. Almost no one has it.
