Ps2 shipments total as of march 2012 is 155.1m, sony kept shipping the super cheap ( 99$ ) ps2 units in some emerging markets till march 2013.

Was it 1.3m? Who knows ( they combined shipment data of ps2 with ps3 in that fiscal year ) , but it wouldn't be much more than 1m for obvious reasons, for instance its shipments dropped to 900k in CY12Q4 ( holidays ) from 1.20m in CY12Q3 ( 10th year, extremely impressive sales . )

I am fairly sure most people estimated PS2 to be around 160m. If not then the PS3 and PS Vita sold much better than we thought.

DS and 3DS are handhelds, they don't really count imo. PS3 is a better platform for gaming than Wii. Wii only sold slightly better because it was way cheaper than the PS3 and focused a lot more on a casual audience.

And PS4 was revealed as 81.2m. With 525.3m total. I would guess PSV is on the lower end of that estimate as well (But its still selling). PS3 could be 88-90 tbh.

Lmao, you do realize Sony doesn't make the 500M milestone if you take away the sales of the PSP and PS Vita right?

Wii sold 15 million more units than the PS3. Also what console you prefer is entirely subjective and totally besides the point as this is a sales thread. PS3 wasn't number one, it was a big failure that cost Sony billions of dollars.

The only reason handhelds don't count to you is because Nintendo crushed them twice and kicked them out of the handheld market.
