The antifa and their supporters are terrible people. They are a hate group so not sure why they still have facebook pages.

They're much worse than a hate group; they're terrorists.

I know it's getting heated in here, but try to calm down. Try not to call someone a kid and keep it civil.

Notice me, senpai!

Not until you answer my questions rationally. Last chance.  I dare you to be better.

As for you, I suggest that you stop with changing Immersiveunreality posts in an attempt to troll him and also refrain from trolling in general. Otherwise, I will have to hand out a moderation.

In my opinion, Antifa is just as bad as any other hate-group on the right if not worse because they carry out violent acts and the media just praises it. Attacks with bike locks, burning cars, throwing homemade granades into crowds. Yes, they are terrible.

I can sort of understand the wanting to fight racism/fascism etc. But I do not agree that just having a racist idea and presenting it is warranting a beat down. By attacking them you will make the public majority sympathetic towards them. In addition, you will not change their views, only enforce them and make them feel rightous. They will flock in Eco-Chambers and their racist views will turn to violence as they fuel each other.

Only by entering civil discourse can you change their views. They will not change their minds unless someones is willing to at least listen to what they say and being open to even hateful views, since they obviously feel like they have good reason for having them.

Just my two cents

I'm not a fan of this of behavior regardless of who it is(I don't know who Kirk or Owens is). If they really want to make a difference, be the bigger person. Simply attacking someone for no apparent, isn't going to solve problems and will only cause more issues.

Bikelock basher and all around scumbag Eric Clanton, someone who in my opinion should have been charged with attempted murder is getting off. Technically, he agreed to a plea deal of 3 years of probation instead of the 11 year sentence he was originally going to receive but you might as well say he's getting off. At least he got fired from his teaching job. He was a college professor who taught the subjects of ethics and critical thinking, none of which was applied when he participated as an Antifa member in a protest where he struck someone over the head with a bike lock who wasn't doing any harm to anyone. It wasn't just one strike. It was several. I think he tried to kill that guy.

It is also worth noting that in every one of these protests I hear about, Antifa are always the ones who starts the violence. Even In Portland just recently. If you actually spoke to anybody who was actually there, they will tell you it was Antifa who started the fighting.

I'd argue gang members are worse, they do significantly more destruction than any group and fuck up communities. We can't even call them animals without liberals getting upset.

Any who, maybe Antifa aren't the biggest scum but they're fucking scum. They cover their faces so they can assault people, we should consider that a serious problem. Also people should be allowed to have opposing views without being harassed, but called me old fashion.

The alt right are still the real monsters here. They're just as NYCrysis described, and Trump is enabling them. In fact, during his rallies he'd encourage them to attack his critics.

I don't even hear about the alt right much if at all. I'm not arguing they aren't bad people, I'm simply arguing Antifa is horrible and appear to be more prevalent.

Is Trump enabling the alt right? He's doing a terrible job in my opinion. He should encourage them to harass people like democrats do with Antifa.

There's a reason you don't hear a lot about the Alt-Right. Outside of the internet, they have very little influence, no media backing and absolutely no financial backing. In fact, they're actually falling apart because they're having trouble transitioning from internet shit posting to an actual political movement. The fact that they have very little influence is part of the reason you don't see them committing violence. They know they can't get away with it.

Then you have Antifa, a group that does have more of an influence outside the internet. Most people who consider themselves Antifa come from an upper middle class background and had joined the movement while in college, which is often where the recruiting happens. The media will often downplay the violence committed by Antifa, meaning that they do have some media backing. Though ironically enough, in Europe, the same media who was defending Antifa had been physically assaulted by them before. It has been suspected that Antifa cells have received financial backing of some kind. I don't know if they're still growing but for a while they were and it turns out the FBI had actually been investigating Antifa for quite some time. Not to mention places like New Jersey actually classify Antifa as a terrorist organization. The Alt-Right doesn't get that kind of attention. Antifa not only commits acts of violence, they don't hide it. In fact, they even try to justify it. Most of the time, they get away with it. The only time don't is when they get arrested in states that have laws against wearing masks during a protest. These laws were actually designed to put a stop to the Ku Klux Klan and it worked because you don't much from them these days.

So yes, Antifa as of right now is more dangerous than the Alt-Right could ever hope to be and they'll probably be around longer than the Alt-Right.

When I see how extreme left and extreme right wing behave, I grow more and more persuaded that many of them are sociopath and/or psychopath that use politics not just to hide their nature, but even to feel free to show it. One striking example is just in the extreme left: for their ideologies sexism against women and homophobia are usually considered unacceptable, but they feel free to show them in the most disgusting and disturbing ways against female and gay right wing politicians (or even artists that dare to express right wing opinions). Just to make things even, I'll give another example in the extreme right: in most countries they are against gipsies, but in Central Italy some extreme right wing groups, while fiercely against Rom gipsies, are allied of Sinti gipsies, and, worryingly, particularly of some ruthless Sinti mafia families. Talk about coherence.
