No thread or comment summarizing the SOP? I found it very strong.

Me too, though I am a little disappointed in FFXVI's delay. But at the same time not really. Got plenty to play this year with God of War Ragnarok on the horizon (as well as Horizon, which I've yet to play). Oh, and Tunic is one of those 'I'm jealous of Xbox' games that we're getting.

I was on twitter for all of five minutes and got inundated by 'all the games at the Sony Showcase are coming to Xbox/PC, and ponies are crying about it' stuff, and all I could think was 'really? The ONE Exclusive you had this year (tunic) is coming to PS consoles and that's the hill you're dying on?' I just can't do it anymore.

Did ffxvi had a date announced before? I just remember rumors.

I'm blown away. Sony just redefined what a State of Play could be!

I wouldn't expect this to be a common occurrence unless they do very few per year. I expect more like gt7 and hfw dedicated and smaller ones for multiple indies and perhaps 2 bigger announcement/updates.

That was as close to a 10/10 as it'll ever get for me.
I expected a focus on VR but got RE4, SF6 and FF16.

By the way, a friend of mine is having trouble updating their PS+.
it expires tomorrow, but he says he's unable to renew it.

Does he have to wait until the new PS+ tiers launch on June13, and be without online capability for almost two weeks?

If so that's extremely poor handling by Sony.

From what Sony said (and sure can be wrong) was that couldn't extend current subs, but as soon as it expires it could be renewed (be it voucher or auto-renewal).

But yes, considering the potential abuse of the glitch for PSNow upgrade to PS+ Premium is know for several weeks already Sony should had already corrected that long ago (or not even made the mistake in the first place) and allow the extensions to resume without issue.

I seem to recall them aiming for 2021 then 2022 at various points. Can't find proof so take it with a grain of salt.

There was a Magazine scan that stated 2021 without a source but there hasn't been an official release date, simply an original target to reveal more in 2021, that then got delayed to this spring 2022. So we can assume that it was internally delayed by a similar 6months.

1.) I see. So it should work tomorrow then. Thanks.

2.) Haven't heard of that exploit. Is that the reason they disabled renewing for PS+?

3.) Will PS+ Essentials coast the same as the current PS+ subscription?

4.) I also see Stray will be included with Extra and Premium.

So if you plan on getting Stray Day 1, and it's time to renew, may as well get Extra.

Did they say if they'll add more games to Extra like Stray throughout the year?

Ah I missed yesterdays SoP. Stray releasing for July Plus Extra/Premium is nice. Going to have a boat load of games the next several months.

Iirc Sony temporarily stopped accepting PS Plus codes for the old subscription last month in lieu of the new plans being rolled out. He should be able to enter them in soon as the new PS Plus should go live for the rest of the world, later this month.

Essential will be the current PS Plus. Everyone subbed to PS Plus will be moved over to that plan. And will cost the same as now. Additionally people subbed to PS Now (currently) will be upgraded to Premium for the remainder of their subscription.

I think Jim Ryan said no day 1 first party but didn't mention third party. So I guess they could do deals like that with devs on a smaller budget. A bit like when they added Fall Guys to PS Plus for a month - on release, and Rocket League. Hoping we see bigger releases too.

1) You are welcome

2) Sony said that for PSNow subs they would be upgraded for PS+ Premium without any additional cost for the remaining of the duration of that sub, so some people started buying and stacking several years of PSNow in advance, Sony made a kneejerk reaction that is very bad.

3) Yes, PS+ converts to Essential 1:1, PS+ Premium is essentially twice the price and the other one something in between.

4) Yep it was announce in SoP. So it seems like Sony basically is going to give 2 games on essential (instead of the current 3) and will give additional on the other tiers.

Haven´t seem any announcement of this plan, but saw some people suspecting of it, and with this specific game it seems credible to think that is their plan going forward. Depending on what they start giving on Extra I may upgrade.

Very reasonable guess I would say.

Yeah, we didn't get Day 1 games a lot on PS Plus (Fall Guys, and Destruction Allstars come to mind), so maybe they'll put those on Extra and above in the future.

Hmm, I'm not sure, because I saw people speculate about 2 games a month because they said "at least two games" or something like that.
But we've had months where we only got two games on PS Plus in the past, so I think that's why they worded it that way.

And then some months we get four.

Stray is a Day 1 game though, so it's a bit different from the vast majority of PS Plus games.

So I'm leaning towards this being an occasional thing for some Day 1 third party games, rather than cutting out a standard PS Plus game each month, and putting it on Extra/Platinum.

You are right, and well I just said it was the speculation going on =p

Downloading Horizon Forbidden West, what's the verdict here, isit better than the first game?

Based on what I can tell, it's about the same quality overall, as in the gameplay is more refined but the story doesn;t pack quite the same punch.
