Why do you have a gaming laptop with a GTX 1070 if you don't like gaming on it?

I could understand the console preference at home if you game on a big TV there... but wouldn't be the gaming laptop much more convenient on travel?

Most hotel TVs are quite shitty.

Yeahhh but I hate gaming on a mouse these days. I actually had a game I liked back when I bought the laptop. For the life of me, I can’t remember what it was. I earn decent money so gaming laptops/consoles don’t really come close to denting the budget.

Then... just use a controller? Most PC games of the last decade work perfectly fine with Xbox controllers (wired or wireless), PS4 controllers or any other bluetooth controller or USB controller.

That sucks man.

I thought this was going to be a joke thread about the Xbox no longer being manufactured due to Google potentially launching a console. I am disappointed, though sorry for your troubles.

But if he wanted to play something like Overwatch for example, playing it on a laptop with a 1070 just for the sake of it being a laptop... then using a controller he would be putting himself into a pool of other gamers all using M/KB for no real reason.

Some people like to game on what they like to game on, as for OP have you ever considered picking up a Switch or two for you and the wife? really snug little travel system if you enjoy Nintendo games and don't mind paying a little extra for third party games which look slightly worse than on X1/PS4 just a thought for consideration, maybe just bag up the X1 and enjoy the rest of your trip in France and worry about it when you get home :) Happy and safe travels.

Sometimes luck is a bitch.
I don't think this gen PS4 and X1 have much different reliability... perhaps someone else have travelled with their X1 to 5 countries just fine and the PS4 died after only changing a room.

Once the 360S launched it was just as reliable as the PS3.

RIP, that really fucking sucks. Probably a result of the adapter malfunctioning or something. Honestly though, just enjoy Europe man (wish I could afford to travel). If you really need to use a controller for gaming, buy a wired cable for your Xbox controller to use on your PC.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I guess so.

Bought a 360S shortly after it launched still works great and use it semi regularly even though I prefer playing my 360 game one my X1S via backwards compatibility now.

My "guess so" wasn't meant to be rude or incredule. It was just that I never seem anything that would suggest reliability between both Slims were considerably different.

Both probably won't be as durable as a NES or Atari that you can still play fine nowadays, but considering industry standard they are very solid products.
