A delayed game is eventually good..... ect.

Duke Nukem

Point taken.... even though I was refering to the famous quote.
Shenmue probably has a small team working on it, the more time they take the better chances of it not being some rushed glitchly peice of work.

Duke Nukem, Mighty no. 9 etc.

it's down to how good you are, not what time you have.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I expected this, it doesn't bother me, as Miyamoto said. "a delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever". I've waited since 2001 for this, I can wait a bit longer and I'm happy I backed this because I never thought it would actually happen.

But I haven't been keeping up with fan reactions, are they unhappy with this? I did expect a lot of criticism by the time it came out because I think a lot of people back games like this due to hype and reputation rather than knowledge of what they are supporting.

Contrary to what a delay might suggest, it's good news cause it will allow them to polish the game and fix stuff that needs fixing, no need to rush the game, why? It's not like we are twiddling our fingers by a lack of games, at least on the PS4

yea this. Someone calling the shots has decided the game is worth adding more dev too. If it was god awful they would cancel it. Never played the 1st ones but I am following the development of this one.

add me, the more the merrier.

Not surprising really. I never looked to me like the game was going to release this year. Fingers crossed it is really good. I am quite interested to see what the fuss is about and will likely pick up the first two games.

Hopefully it doesnt go the way of TLG. Hyped for many many years only to end up underwhelming. I love the Shenmue series so I just gotta sit in a corner and rock back and forth and mumble ''please dont be terrible'' D:

As long as it happens like with Sakura Wars now, unlike what’s happening with Suikoden still.

We are getting the Collection too this year right? So delaying 3 sounds like a good move.

Do Shenmue fans think this will live up to expectations?

Not hating, just asking.

As a Shenmue since day one, I'm just glad its continuing and I would be content if its at par with the previous games.

The Shenmue games have exactly aged well. Kind of dull and poor pacing, so I'm not sure how high expectations really are. Most importantly I want to see the story's conclusion.

That's a weird thing to say...

Howso? When you have expectations, it means it's something that you were expecting. I was never expecting Shenmue 3 to be made. If you knew even the tinest amount regarding Shenmue 1/2's development you'd know why. There's no "expect" involved.

Yes but it seems like once you DID find out it was being made, that your exceptions would have gone through the roof, considering the reputation of the series in question. Shenmue is no garbage IP. It's legendary and, speaking for myself, I expect the third game to live up to that level of the first two. Anything less will be a let down.
