Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best FPS single player campaign

Of all the first person shooters over the years, which do you think has the best single player campaign, and why?

Ugh ... this is going to be the obligatory "Doom" thread

Anyways, probably the original DOOM lmao

Does Metroid Prime count?

Edit: also, good to see you back, curl. That is, if you really weren't around. I didn't see you around, so I'm assuming so.

Cheers mate, I have been around, just not super active lately.

I dont play many FPS games, so I’m gonna go with Doom 2016 as well. Titanfall 2 looks pretty good too but I havent played it yet.

Also, Metroid Prime shouldn’t count as its focus is not on shooting (you can even lock your aim which would completely defeat the purpose), but if you’re counting it then I’ll agree to that one as well lol

I make game analyses on youtube:

FFVI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSO6n8kNCwk
Shadow of the Colossus: https://youtu.be/9kDBFGw6SXQ
Silent Hill 2: https://youtu.be/BwISCik3Njc

Goldeneye 007 - multiple difficulties, multiple missions/objectives, very good level layouts, super fun unlockables, great weapon variety. Total package.

That is a tough call to be honest. If we are talking straight up FPS, it is a toss up for me between...

DOOM (current gen) for fast paced action

Wolfenstein The New Order for plot and overall gameplay

Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-5643-2927-1984

Animal Crossing NH Dream Address: DA-1078-9916-3261

In recent years I'd say Doom, but I find myself choosing Dying Light, since it's story actually had me caring for a few characters, as well as the campaign being longer than DOOM's, while also giving me a few good scares (DOOM honestly made me feel like Superman).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

There is no other answer than Half-Life 2.
