Odd that people are happy about it not meeting "expectations". Rooting for something to fail is such a negative mindset imo.

Not when you think that whatever it is is bad for the industry. I'm not saying it is or isn't but, that's what a lot of them think. And if someone thinks something is bad for the industry, why WOULDN'T they root against it?

who care if it fails or succeeds it doesn't add anything for gamers, which is what people on this site are. it doesn't really help gaming just look at wii success it made Microsoft focus on shovelware.

Uuuumm... Shocking? How many people were honestly expecting $60- $80 cardboard to be a big seller?

Many nintendo fans, but like i said before, it's a hit or miss product, and most often then not they miss.

The Wii brought quite a lot of people that were previously not into video gaming into the market, it helped to expand the market. In addition, there is quite a lot of us that enjoyed the Wii and are looking forward to Labo and would like the Switch to succeed, considering it is pretty much the only option left for proper portable gaming. Your previous comments have made clear that you dislike Nintendo hardware and you seem to clearly want the Switch and products for it, like Labo to fail. I would say there is no reason to be condescending to those of us that are gamers and that actually enjoy these products.

I don't want switch to fail. in fact it's impossible for it to fail at this point it's gonna at least do 65 million. i just don't see the product keeping momentum, or selling anywhere near ps4. as for wii i could care less for what it brought mostly casuals that abandoned gaming after they got bored of motion controls, as for labo i feel the same way. switch is different to me its just a successor of 3ds, that can also be a very lack luster home console.

..eh i really don't think a product like labo would appeal to traditional gamers or those that frequent gamestop. with that said it will be a great birthday gift for my son along with his own switch

Pretty that isnt the reason (most) people would root against it. Unless they're completely naive and think Labo would be the primary focus for Nintendo going forward.

Success = more money = more R&D = better games and hardware in the future. It does benefit gamers both directly and indirectly

It's just an experimental thing by Nintendo to try and bring in a different kind of audience. It was clearly communicated as being aimed toward kids and kids at heat. Heck! they even didn't include it on a main direct and instead showed it off with a small trailer. It will get trounced in sales by God of war no doubt, which in turn will bring out the trolls calling it a flop. It will sell just average/ ok numbers to begin with, leg out until the holiday season and then hit it's stride. It's not for me personally but like Miiverse drawings and Mario maker levels, im looking forward to seeing creative people's creations.

no necessarily wii was a huge success, nintendo out put in quality games didn't really change, or look at kinect success it completely destroyed Microsoft first part focus.
