If you just ment that as they not going for war over it that is almost moot, they also didn't go for several of their bikering with China. But it seemed more like you were saying that it was pointless for them to even want the islands because they are already a rich country.

Yeah, I'm saying that there's a lot for them to risk by trying to get those islands back, including relations with Russia for islands that they aren't realistically going to get back in the first place.

The route of buying the islands would make more sense then forcing a war anyway. But we do know that at least to Japan the sealine because of almost doubling the reach of their lands would be more important than the landmass anyway.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Well, Russia would have to be willing to sell, I don't know if they would want to though, for Alaska it was fear of the British taking it over with no compensation that they sold it, I don't think they have the same fear with the Kuril Islands.

Also I don't think they would, but would still be prefereable than war.

Let Russia have it , they need more space to live, and they have been suffered on having small country.

Apparently Japan having a good economical situation makes the need for space zero, while the immense underpopulated landmass of Russia will become rich with the islands.
