Hah, you were right about what Ryuu said. This seems like a conversation with Aeolus, in which you could go on and on until the end of days arguing about a point, and never reach a concensus because the one you are arguing with dosent like to lose.*sigh*

Look, I just pointed out your original post because it felt like it was an unnecessary remark. It had no malice nor nothing of the sort in it, I just wanted to point that out.And at first, I felt like it was a nice discussion, arguing anout wether putting imo was necessary or not.But it became clear with this post that you are not interested in having a nice conversation, and more like imposing your opinion on me.I even tried to overlook some of the nonsense that you wrote about parts of what I said being SJW, in which has no sense at all, but it seems that if we continue this conversation, it will only develop into, for a lack of a better word, shitshow just because a single guy was dissapointed that its console of choice isnt being properly supported by that company and he, with the darkest part of his soul, left out a imo out of that little setence in order to curse the other versions.

So lets agree to disagree, even if you dont want to.

Well that's the thing. I'm not the one trying to win. I merely pointed out to the other user "in your opinion" and called it a day, but you stepped in and we ended up dragging this out. Eventually to a point where an agree to disagree was forced.

The reason I disagree to that, is that I would redact what I had previously said, but I do not. I pointed out that there were cases of it happening all over the net and this site being no different. Because I've seen it happening on here, I cannot label it as the exception.

It wasn't even a remark as you put it. It was merely me pointing out "in your opinion", which was the main part I was trying to convey.

@bolded; No, I wasn't really up for dragging something as simple as forgetting to mention "imo" out as long as this. I didn't feel like the "harassment" comment was necessary, so I naturally decided to take it down the road it was heading toward. I mentioned the SJW part because believe it or not (rule, norm or anything else), thaty group like to act like anything towards them is a form of harassment, which was why I saw it as such to mention SJW.

Mmn, that last part is telling me that because you didn't get that nice discussion, you now want to turn it into something else (I can definitely feel it in that last part).

Like I said before. I'm not going to agree to disagree, we can just disagree and be done with it, but I'm not backing down from calling the other user on not using "imo" (hell we have another user pulling the same thing in regards to their system getting JRPG's).

Great, then lets agree to disagree.Or just disagree, since it seems that, in your opinion, is how I should have written so that your opinion can be respected or something of the sort.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I'll be getting this one for Switch and only Switch...

Eventually.

Not because I'm a boycotter, but because portability makes this the best version, and I've doubledipped on way too many Switch titles this console cycle.

In your opinion.

Others will consider the game being best on their respective platforms in one way or another.

Thats the crux of the problem to be quite honest.I still think that those japanese companies that have good relations with Nintendo "sinned" in not jumping in early on the Switch, or at least gave it an honest try, even though Square kind of did with Octopath and some somewhat decent port of the DQ musou games. But if you had to choose betwenn the two evils of not announcing anything until its ready, or announcing it but having barely anything put together, the first one should always have the preference.

Or maybe they are just slow in transitioning and doing the waiting game rather than gambling their resources with unproven platform because of.

  • Shrinking sales in Japan.
  • JP 3rd party devs are looking at WW now.
  • Expensive cartridge
But now that Switch is a success then we are seeing the transition now. As Switch grows bigger then more support will come from JP 3rd party devs.

@bold
I will choose the 2nd one since we are talking about DQXI. Because with the 2nd one I have the option to choose. If I will wait or play it on the available platform when it comes available.

Well this thread took a sad turn since I last posted.

I wouldn't worry about the various western additions to the game bugging it up; all this is done by SE to put their best foot forward for a franchise that relies heavily on nostalgia that doesn't exist on the same level worldwide as it does in Japan. The majority of the time spent is for the voice acting, and you can blame people complaining about having to read text in modern games for that one.

Unless it's a shitty port, I'll almost definitely be getting the PC version. Can't say I'd be too interested in the inferior Switch version unless it ended up being an HD port of the 3DS version somehow. That would be neat. I'd double dip for that.

Until we know what the Switch version will be like, it's hard to claim that the Switch version will be inferior.
For example, it may have lower quality visuals, and an extra story mode where you play through a portion of the game as the main villain. I would probably prefer that version, if that was the case.
Resident Evil 4 was like that, where the PS2 version had lower visual quality than the GC version, but they added the ability to play through Ada's story in Separate Ways, which I much preferred, as it added something to the overall experience. (You learn that it was Ada who rang the church bell to save Leon in the beginning, etc.)

Because the Switch version will come out so late, it's plausible they may add some extras to make up for it.

Yep, that's entirely possible.  I was just speaking specifically to the graphics, if it's a straight port. If it isn't then obviously we'd have to see what it's like.  But I also mentioned that if they make it more in line with the 3DS version with both 3D and 2D visuals, it would be worth the second purchase for me.  I would have done it for the 3DS version, too.

Anyone wondering why DQ11 is taking so long to bring west...Square Enix is putting a ton of work into it. According to PlayStation Access, besides the game being translated into EFIGS (English French Italian German Spanish), the following is being added:
- Voice Acting (Japanese version has no VA) & 'lip syncing.'
- Revamped, more visually appealing menus
- A 'Run' button
- A 'First Person' mode
- A 'Draconian Quest' difficulty mode
- The ability to hide the UI (for Share button picture taking people)

That and developing a PC port that they can release at the same time as the PS4 version. I imagine that was the most intensive part of localization.

So excited for this one.

Well, I suppose we could just throw the blame for the lengthy localization time at the feet of the PC port. Right then. Bloody PC gaming, ruining everything.

Okay, will just get the PC version then.

Its possible to pirate on the PS4 version especially with the latest exploit l0l.

@OT - Great news - shame about the 3DS version being canned in the west - will eventually emulate it but will buy the Steam version in the future.

Hoping for DQ5 and DQ8 to come out.

Hmm? Certainly not on FW 5.50, which is the current one.

...not that I have tried, I just looked around since I didn't hear about anything really new since the 4.55 thing.
