Hold on, what are you guys talking about? NPD tracking always starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday.

In fact, Mbolibombo, each of the end-of-month dates you listed except in October are a Saturday. What sense does it make for October to start on 10/7, a Sunday, and then end on 11/2, a Friday?

Ps4 in third even with cod and rdr2? Saturation point reached?

Well, beats me. That's what NPD-Mat has stickied to his twitter. Maybe he got his numbers wrong.

So it seems the Switch has considerable momentum going into the holidays......it would need it if Nintendo are going to hit that 20m target. They definitely can't be ashamed of current performance though. Also seems Saturation has finally caught up with the PS4 (pending any Black Friday inspired revivals). Damned good performance for the PS4 though, particularly since it wiped the floor with the XBone. Interesting times indeed, is the reign of the Switch about to begin ?

Wouldn't go as far as saturation, PS4 goes up and down, some months it does what people consider poor but then next month it just comes straight back. Have to remember September was a great month for it.. actually massive month... so yeah without big deals it looks like it came in third for October, but in reality it would have been 2nd had MS not done a massive discount... so you can't just look at data and go PS4 third... its bigger than that.
