Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ubisoft censoring nude statues in AC Origins Tour mode

Murdering is fine of course as the very title of this game clearly suggests but showing the human body in its most natural state, Ooooh please glorious censorship, protect our tiny little brains from such an unholy sight...

Stupid humans and their twisted logic, I would destroy this planet if I could but I can't... Also I have no back up planet to go to so yeah, I'm stuck here with all this nonsense.

Its one of those things in europe we dont get (about americans).
Americans go crazy if even a nipple is shown on tv...... dispite everyone on the planet being born with them.

But all this violence, thats apparently fine.

I'm guessing Ubisoft is expecting Tour Mode to get used as an educational tool, which would easily explain this. Otherwise, this does sound disappointing though.

That seems to be the case. But in a way that makes it even worse, means that ESRB/PEGI/etc. won't give it a Teen/12 rating with the nude statues still in. How is nude art so bad that it would raise the rating of the game from Teen/12  to Mature/17? We might need to rethink our rating guidelines, nude art is perfectly acceptable in an educational game imo. It's not like kids won't have already been exposed to it at some point, if they've ever gone to an art museum. Heck, there's an Italian restaurant in my town with 2 nude female statues at the entrance, lol.

I very much doubt there's a problem with the artsy nudity for PEGI or USK. ESRB and the rating boards from Australia and Japan would much more probably have a problem with it.

Reminds me of Florida now. 17 people killed by gunfire, not even getting discussed if it could be harmful. But porn apparently is harmful to everyone there now and needed to get banned within a week of the shooting and just days after gun safety not even got discussed despite being on the to-look-at list.

Totally agree. Pure bullshit.

This is a very north american kind of thing. There's very little issue with nudity in Europe or Japan.

Blame the puritan societies

oh oh no... That nipple made me feel so marginalized because it reinforces gender stereotypes. I need a safe space. 😱

The creator of a game about a family tree of assassins that killed thousands somehow feels a nipple on a statue is too much....

Silly and unnecessary.

I'm with CrazyGamer. Want to see those nipples and hogs and blow up the universe.

Bhwahahaha...I'm sorry. It's stupid. It should NOT be censored but.....but....that is the most hilariously bad attempt at cencorship I've seen in quite a bit.

That's not true. They're like the only country in the world that censors the genitalia out of porn videos. Yet they still have a thriving porn industry... how?

There are specific historical reasons why that was the case for a long time (there are also specific laws regarding displaying pubic hair), I'm talking about the attitude of people towards nudity.

Japan is a very sex positive country which to me was actually shocking as they tend to be really reserved regarding public displays of affection.

The irony here is that nudity
