[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

People complain now but wait until all those free third-party games kick in. Eh. It bugs me that this joke would have worked so much better for the Wii U. On the other hand, adding another charge for people who had already invested in a Wii U would have been a bit too cruel to joke about.

Yeah. That's how I feel about PSN. Crap hardly works and is slow as hell even though we all pay for it.

Nintendos' online atm thats free runs fine, but if we start paying and it either gets worse or doesn't add anything of substance to it, then  i concur with your statement

That 20 dollar price point makes the bitter pill a little easier to swallow.

$20 for now, but I can more than easily see it rising over the next 5 years. I'm not paying for the £20 now, and likely never when it rises.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I hope that if this is successful, it will lead Sony and Microsoft to release a "Downgraded" version of their subscription services.

There'd better be cloud saves

Nintendo has a crazy habit of creating a stir every now and then. Most times its earthier with their weird game consoles, controllers and sometimes even with their classic games being full priced even after being released years prior.

But with the newly released news of their Paid Online Subscription to be released in September, I can't help but ask,

Will Nintendo Switch online be priced more than PSN & XB Live ?

If so, how much ?

Nintendo announced the price already months ago, you can see it on their official page:

https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/

1 month: 3.99$

3 months: 7.99$

12 months: 19.99$

So Nintendo is wrong to charge "full price" for their consoles and controllers? Because they're Nintendo, I assume?

Come on, you have to do better than this. I understand the "underpowered" argument but the Switch is a new product (cheaper than either PS4 or Xbox One at launch), and it's portable. Its controllers are also very high quality - personally I'd say the Switch Pro is the best controller I've ever tried, honestly -, so it makes no sense to complain about their price.

Classic games being overpriced, sure I'll give you that. They should definitely be cheaper, especially some of the more throwaway titles. That said, it is possible with the Nintendo Online Service, those games will be cheaper as a result.

It's also about the only good thing I'm expecting from it, really. Nintendo has already shown they are incapable of creating a decent online ecosystem, they were taking baby steps with the Wii U but amazingly the Switch managed to get worse at it. At least, as others have said, it'll be much cheaper than Live or PS+, so, yay I guess?

He was talking about full price for the games years after they are released, which only Nintendo really do.
