Yup. That.

If that's true, then I would raise my GOW figures, because it will still sell more. |
That is true. Its an official statement from Sony.

God of War 3 sold around 6m on PS3 alone and has featured several times on PS Store's top sellers on PS4. Its likely above 7.5m now.

Eh, I don't think the release of Ascension was enough to prove that (provided that's what you're basing that idea on). Had God of War PS4 been God of War III, but for the new gen, I think it would still sell a good 4m or so (which is fine for a God of War title). In this case, adding a few features to spice things up will result in more sales, but God of War would have had HUGE buzz regardless. |
I don't see where you're getting at here, a remake of GOW 3? If you're talking about a new game with GOW 3's scale that wasn't possible with the story.

GOW isn't Uncharted, it never gets massively bundled.

There's a first time for everything...

Don't see it happening. Uncharted has been getting bundled from the first one because it was always intended to be mainstream. God of War is an R rated franchise. If it becomes mainstream it still would be a niche audience with little room for expansion like Dark Souls so Sony wouldn't push it as much. They have another mainstream game coming instead with Spiderman.

God of War always was extremely mainstream with its macho hero, brutal but simple gameplay, and simple themes. They're changing things up quite a bit this time, so I would not be surprised to see massive bundling.

Um, read what I said again. |
Ah okay, I think it would have been hammered for being 11 hour long with no multiplayer.
| Vincoletto said: GoW3 hapenned a long long time ago. The last in the series actually was GoW ascention which sold way less and was also a very inferior game. Maybe the series lost a lot of fans over time and with the latets release. Uncharted 3 was release by the end of PS3 era. I would shoot for 8 million retail + digital, but it could reach 10 million. But dont think it will be uncharted level of success. |
Ascension was poorly reviewed and was the worst game in the series, hence the poor sales.
TC, 10 mil is way too high, I think it sees a nice boost like Uncharted did over the PS3 versions, but not better than GOW2 on PS2.
I predict 5-6mil tops.
Uncharted 3 was 2011. GoW:A 2013. I can see GoW selling well. I doubt 10 million but that would be great assuming people love it.
We really need a more accurate way of tracking digital sales. Digital sales of Music, Single Song downloads and Digital Movie sales have skyrocket in the last 3 years. I would be nice to put retail & digital game sales side by side one. And not to mention that even Sony stated that PSN does very well in the digital game category (I personally only buy my Vita games as digital downloads).
April can't come fast enough.

Yeah most people pre-order nowadays on PSN.
