Some people really are a lost cause...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Darkest Dungeon, Celeste, Fe, Kirby: Star Allies, Dragon Quest Builders, Owlboy, Mario Tennis Aces and Dark Souls: Remastered would like a word with you.

None of these games were on the Wii U.

I have already said that it left essentially the first 6 months with ports and  Kirby and a Mario tennis game.

That is extremely weak and you should acknowledge that.  No killer app, not a new great game, not even a new very good game.

Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey released within 7 months of each other.  Those are the Switch's Killer Apps.  A console doesn't get a brand new "Killer App" every 6 months.

Because that's quite a wide range of different games. You got a platformer, a big open-world action/adventure, an online shooter, a JRPG, and a kart racer. There's also coverage for tactical RPG with M+R and fighters with ARMS (though I'm not a big fan of it tbh). Most of these games are considered good by most people, so mostly everyone who likes one of those genres should be able to enjoy at least one of them.

Neither you nor I get to decide what types of videogames someone else likes or dislikes.  If they only want to play point and click adventure games or puzzle games or even games about cats, they have every right to do that.

Personally, though I do want to play Zelda, I have little interest in the rest and still I have plenty of games to choose from.

Nintendo Switch has all of these covered.

Ports. Are we forgetting that the PS4 and Xbox One more or less thrived on ports, remakes and remasters (and to some extent still do) at the beginning of the generation? I'm not.

The system itself has little to do with my point.

I can understand the ports of Wii U games. That console is not that old but failed badly despite the development invested in the games. Nintendo needs a quick turnaround before reinvesting in fresh games, so seeing as the Switch is attracting many non-Wii U owners (myself included) they are still expanding their market.

I for one will happily buy the DK port.

Not talking about PS4 here, I'm just pointing out the amount of shovel ware and ports that the Switch is getting.

Are you trying to cause a stir?

If you wanna talk about shovelware and ports, go to steam.

Or PS4. Or Xbox One. Or anything, really. Of all the current gen platforms, Switch is the LEAST polluted with shovelware.

Instead of seeking out things to complain about, go play Breath of the Wild. Or, if that doesn't make my point since it was also on WiiU, play Super Mario Odyssey. Or Splatoon 2. Or Arms. Or Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, or Xenoblade Chronicles 2, or any of the great indies like Snipperclips.

In the console's first year, ports are bound to happen (and I'm truly glad they are, for those who didn't get to them on the failed WiiU), but to say that it's plagued with shovelware is a blatantly stupid claim. cut that shit out. Stop trying to perpetuate negativity or conjure it where it doesn't belong.

If you're going to complain about something on the switch, complain about the lack of Virtual Console or the planned shitty online scheme, not the games.

Is Nintendo doomed?!?!?!

Every plaform has become victim to shovelware and portmania. One more the other less. Switch is the newest and most prominent.

There are no shovelwares.

However, there are way too many ports....

For Wii U owners, the planning of the first six months 2018 is completely empty. That's terrible.

Shovelware is meant as derogatory term for low  quality low budget games... in other words... indie games.

It doesn't mean indie games.  Indie games can be shovelware but so can games produced by big publishers.  The Wii and PS2 had tons of shovelware from companies like EA and Ubisoft.
