quickrick is getting absolutely handled in this thread and still won't give up lol

that's the way you see it, but i really have no clue what you're talking about lol. ps3 winning the generation had it launched at 399$ is a givin, in europe it would have destroyed 360, but it was way more expensive, euro was higher then the dollar back then.

In fact, that's not too crazy to say that the Ps3 could had any chance to win the generation by been released @ $399.

What other home console can say that managed to sell almost 90 million units for a starting price tag of $499/599?

Thats not what im talking about. You were fine comparing a 7 year handheld to a 12 year handheld but as soon as i bring up the 3.5 year handheld then all of a sudden the amount of years is an unfair compaison.

how do you want me to compare, thats the only LTD i have? gameboy advance is just weird though, why did nintendo release a successor so fast, and then you had a psp which also a strong competition.

You do realize Nintendo didn't intend for DS to be a GBA successor, it was to be a 3rd pillar in their line up. Nintendo got wind of what Sony was doing with PSP and came up with DS, the rest is history

360 totally capitalized on PS3s mistakes just like PS4 did with Xone and PS1 with N64.

you the only difference here is even when 360 capitalized  it still got outsold, while ps4 is selling it 2:1, thats just show how strong the ps brand is, and shows how huge the mistakes were for ps3.

which is  what i was saying, GBA can't even be used as a comparison for proper generation in handhelds.

No one is arguing that PS isnt a strong brand. And yes there were huge mistakes, just like Nintendo with Wii U, GC, and even 3DS. Heck Nintendo made major mistakes with Wii and still sold 100m

Why not? They manufactured them until 2010, sure DS cannibalized GBA a bit, but they had a decade of sales opportunity. We'll see if 3DS gets that long of a manufacture window (along side Switch which is probably cannibalizing 3DS sales ) and then once 3DS reaches 80mil you can throw out your "mobile" argument.

ps3 sold 87 million, launching late in europe it's best region, and being over priced for the market. i don't see anyway it would have not sold over a 100 million, 360 sales would have sold much worse in europe, because playstation is a much stronger brand, but the price 499$ euros, which is like 700-800$ at the time. I don't see nothing ignorant in my post. just look at ps4 sales in europe after sony got it right.

The PS3 cost Sony an estimated ~$800 to make per unit at launch for the 20GB model. They were losing  ~$200 to $300 per unit sold. And you're here talking about a $399 launch. It takes a lot more than a lower launch price for the PS3 to not be a disaster, and it takes a lot more than that for them to make up the 15 Million gap on the Wii.

He doesnt care if Sony hemorrhages money, so long as he gets the W lol
