Forums - Sales Discussion - The new Xbox One numbers for the 25'th are wrong.

The total on the 11'th was 32,562,278 the numbers for the 25'th are 1,138,556  so the total should be 33,700,834  yet the graph reads 34.7, that's 1,000,000 more than it should read by the sites own math.

The problem is that  Xbox is constantly overestimated, especially in Europe.

I think that 32M in total is more realistic for Xbox one.

It's kinda hard to ever get a real sales number for X1, when they themselves never realese one. Unless there's a way to convert hours spent playing online, into console sales.

Personally I think this aswell. Considering how much  ps4 beats it in America I think WW it's beating it by more than then vgchartz is showing.

Maybe they are correcting older numbers and there may be a unsynch between graph and weekly sales. Or perhaps they already corrected older weeks and added 1M to X1 at the same time the numbers for the 25th got released.

Definitely. XBox is constantly overestimated on here. Was the same last gen already. 32 seems more realistic.

So basically what your saying is that they are trying to hide the fact that PS4 has far more than doubled Xbox sales so they are boosting them yet again.

It's so obvious they are manipulating the numbers in favor of Xbox. Mmany months last year and really since launch PS4 has well over doubled Xbox sales, many months more than tripped sales yet on this site you see Xbox clinging on to 50% sales which is mathematically impossible using the numbers simply provided on this site. It seems like every time they do adjustments it's always in favor of Xbox.  I remember several other sales tracking firms had reported PS4 doubled xbox's sales around 18 months before vgchartz reported that happening.

So whats the deal, are these guys taking a check from Microsoft to over track sales or something?  I have often wondered if Microsoft stopped giving numbers to give credibility to sales tracking sites like this to over track.

It's an estimation, don't take it too seriously.

"What VGChartz offers is timely data that isn't meant to be 100% accurate but be in the right range. We don't compete with the likes of NPD, GFK or ChartTrack; we offer a service that is totally different. One that is not based on comprehensive and direct retail tracking, but rather uses modern and alternative methods to quickly arrive at estimates, combined with a database of historical sales - constantly adjusted and tweaked to be as accurate as possible."
