Expecting another cancelation this January, my money is on Crackdown 3.

I don't think they will cancel it, it isn't all over the place like Scalebound appeared to be. It just looks absolutely average

THEy are being smart, game will continue to be delayed and then canceled once Xbox is in a better first party position. Releasing the game will just be a PR blunder.

I agree with almost everything, I can do without the sour fanboy tone though.

2017 was laughable for Xbox exclusives, 2018 already looks more appealing to me. I'm interested to see what E3 brings.

Crackdown and State of decay, are looking pretty "meh" atm.

Sea of theives + The Last Night, could both be pretty good though.

But thats just 2 games.

Look at what PS4 has so far for 2018 (that you cannot play on a xbox one):

Shadow of the Colossus remake
The Last of Us Part II
Days Gone
God of War
Marvel's Spider-Man
Detroit: Become Human
Death Stranding
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
Devil May Cry HD Collection
Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings
Concrete Genie
Dragon Quest XI
Dreams
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time
Fist Of The North Star
Patapon 2 Remastered
Project Phoenix
Rainbow Skies
Reverie
Shenmue III
Steins;Gate Elite
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2
MLB The Show 18
Secret of Mana Remake
The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

^ im probably missing/forgetting some..... Xbox does have a "lack" of compelling games, when compaired to the PS4 atm.

DMC HD is on X1.

I doubt Shenmue III is happening this year but Im waiting for my Kickstarter copy.

I'd say the PS4 has 4 maybe 5 heavy hitters in the west for 2018. While the rest is par for the course on Playstation.

I'd certainly argue MS need to step it up with big budget games and maybe some new IPs. But they dont need to match Sony in quantity. Especially since they dont cater to Japan.

While you are right about ps4 having way more compelling  exclusives coming up, last of us isn't coming in 2018.

Also,  like half of those are niche Japanese games solely including to boost the argument in list wars, nothing else.

In other words, If we put those niche games on the Xbox side, PS4 will still win by a clean margin.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

It takes time to construct a solid foundation to research and development software.Microsoft will have to take at least 2 years to fix this situation.

The question now is: will they fix it at all?Maybe they'll want to focus on pc s and then make the xbox an extension of windows, who knows.Either way,i'm curious.

Microsoft is just waiting anxiously for Gears and Halo to cycle back around. However, it looks like the luster of both franchises has seriously waned. They have to be very careful not to rush out the next iterations instead of polishing them up to be as bombastic as possible.

In the meantime, they'll have to depend on Forza.

Forza as a FCS (first car shooter) maybe. A Forza hack and slash. A Forza where you drive a stealthy assassin car, sneak up on your target, and then run them over. A Forza with zombies, at the very least. Maybe even a Forza staring a team of racing idol singers will get them back into the Japan market.

The 2018 lineup to me looks pretty good, while not at the level of PlayStation there are quite a few points of interest for me:

State of Decay 2 - enjoyed the first game and happy to see the sequel doubling down on its strengths
Sea of Thieves - solid ship mechanics and looks fun, but there are a few problems
Ori and the will of the wisps - an amazing platformer, hard to see it fail
The Last Night - cool trailer, cool setting
Ashen - nice art style, cool setting, immersive
Forza Horizon 4 - nothing to explain, it'll be great

I also am very interested in what they are doing for E3, especially Halo 6 and would really like to see what they have planned in the coming years.

It's disappointing how poorly Crackdown is being treated both marketing wise and just as a game since it looks so old and out of touch with dated graphics, and it's so obvious that Microsoft want this to be another franchise for them.

Lol at some of these lists people are making. I'll take Ori Will of the Wisps and the eventual Horizon 4 over anything PS has to offer next year.

But yeah Xbox 2017 was utter shit, worst in company history.

List warz are fun. Apparently State of Decay 2 is irrelevant because it looks "meh". Meanwhile a visual novel like Steins counts just fine. lol, I remember when last gen a game like State of Decay wouldn't have counted because "lul its an xbla title". How times have changed.

Anyway, no, Xbone will never match PS4 in volume of games simply because it doesn't get all the niche Japanese stuff the Playstation console gets. But 2018 is looking mighty good. Big releases start early with Sea of Thieves and will likely continue into the end of the year with Horizon 4.

it wont be cancelled but it looks really mediocre... Id be surprised if it scores higher than a 70 on metacritic.

Its def. not a game thats looking to wow people in anyway shape or form.

If not Crackdown 3, then my money is on State of Decay 2. The latest trailer had some very worrysome character animations.

Yeah, because state of decay is about visuals and animations...

some people...

Call Nintendo, Mario lacked proper physics!!!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

That niche stigma that Xbox gamers give the Japanese community for JRPG's and Japanese action games is seriously whats hurting Microsofts ability to convince Japanese partners that they are in it to win.
