According to Katsuduo Mangaya’s publisher, Henteko Doujin, Valve may have misinterpreted the description of the game, which states “This is a mystery visual novel for every gentlemen and gentlewomen who love little girls!”. The reference is somewhat mistranslated from Japanese, with the intent supposedly being that these are men and women who love little girls in non-sexual ways.

From the looks of this, It's not a game for pedophiles so I don't what the problem is. Do you ban certain grocery items because pedos might buy them? Do you ban schools or day cares because it might provide access for pedos to kids? Do you anything with kids in them because pedos might like it?

This isn't exactly a wise hill to die on, valve.

That's interesting. As someone who doesn't do PC  gaming as much as he'd like to, what makes Steam terrible? Aside from the very obvious problem of bad software and lack of moderation xD. 

Do we/will we ever have a store front that can rival it with better results? I know we got GOG but that's kind of different

GoG works on making older games playable on modern OS's, but outside of that they release a few indie titles and some AAA titles here and there, but not to the same number that Steam has going for it. GoG also lacks full mod support like Valve has with Steam workshop. Currently on Steam, there are two ways of modding a game:

1. Mod support via the steam workshop, where you can pick and choose what mods to subscribe to and have it downloaded for you.

2. Download mods from an outside source via that game's modding sub forum area (via the game's discussion hub).

Visual Novels (and to a lesser extent anime) just have a very seedy reputation in the west.

Does anyone actually believe this angle? 

The premise sounds like its there to titillate a dark fantasy under the guise of a moral story. It definitely deserves a deeper discussion but I think Valve have every right to make the precautious move.

This is one of the many reasosn I either buy via GoG or pirate PC games. Steam is a no-go for me. Some of their policies are questionable at best and they became the bullies of the PC publishing scene.

Yeah that's one thing I like about Steam. I used to do that with gun skins for Insurgency. I'm just curious because most PC gamers I know love steam despite it's most known issue, so I was wondering how he felt.
