I understand that you're not a portable gamer. I just don't see what's stopping you from playing BOTW and Oddysey docked on your TV. Why would you be bothered that you can take those games with you wherever you go as well? How is that "bad for consumers"?

I don't like getting in details here cause some people are going to say I'm a hater and attack me probably. I hope not.

And again this is just my perspective.

But the thing is, BOTW while not too bad graphically speaking is not perfect either, it has aliasing for example, it runs at 900p if I remember correctly it has some dips in frame rate.

The game looks great. Yeah, it has the flaws you listed, but they are barely noticeable and are not something to make a deal about.

Perfectiondon't exist, what you think it looks perfect can always be better, but we can reach a point to ask  ourselves ifthis is  so needed to be bothered about.

And like wirdness mentioned, the game was made with Wii U HW in mind.

Pretty much equals to say PS4 success is bad for consumers since they don't offer any option to play Uncharted 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn on the go.

With the difference that while it's really true that you only have a single option to play those games, it's false that you can't play SMO and BOTW both on TV and on the go. You can play those games on TV, only not with the same graphical standards as a PS4.

You know what my friend? You are absolutely right. What I'm saying about Nintendo is EXACTLY the same as saying that the PS4 success is not as good for consumers in the sense they don't have the choice to play those games on the go. I don't notice cause gaming on the go is not for me, but you are still very right about it.

So as I don't really notice with my PS4 cause gaming on the go is not my thing I can TOTALLY understand you guys who love gaming on the go, not noticing this issue with Nintendo either.

But as I realize that the "on the go" choice is not there for PS4 consumers, I hope you realize and acknowledge the same point about Nintendo and that's all I've been trying to say about this.

Naturally, it's fair to say the Switch nature is bad for your personal perspective. I think the reason why you're getting some firm response is beacuse you presented (expecially in your first post) a personal perspective as an absolute consumer perspective.

It we really had to be purely objective any form of game exclusivity is bad for consumers in terms of choice and convenience. On the other hand exclusivity brings advanteges to producers which can indirectly translate into quality advantages to consumers.

But that's exactly the issue I'm talking about. The game is great and those flaws are NOT due to the game itself, the same game on dedicated hardware would have looked better. The flaws I speak of are SPECIFICALLY due to the limited portable hardware and not the game itself. that's my issue here, the fact these graphical issues would have easily been avoided with dedicated home hardware. Again, from my perspective of being a home playing guy. I of course totally get it that you enjoy portable mode, it's just not how I play

That's pretty good

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

So by that logic you wouldn't play a single a game, because you can always build a machine that make the game looks better and make some minor flaws from the less powerful device more noticeable.

The Switch was 7.6m shipped on September 30th. So it sold around 2.4m (probably more) in two months (October and November), not one.

Sold over 2.4mil. That first number is shipped

That's not a fair comparison, because then no system or machine would ever be good enough as there is and always will be some other system out there that is better and even that better system can still be improved and produce even better results and that's a race without end and not what I'm saying.

I was only hoping for something that this gen could have been there but is not: a dedicated home system. I guess the absence of that dedicated home system is my issue here. And as I said before, in my opinion and from my perspective only

Congratulations Nintendo!

Prediction: Nintendo Switch sells 100 million until the end of 2021
