Hmmm... not sure. I've played the beta today, and having played every MH since MH3, I'm not actually really surprised or blown away by the beta. I'll probably buy it anyway, I just can't help myself since I love the franchise XD.

Maybe its because its no more on Nintendo consoles? Some of my Friend who are nintendo fans, suddenly didnt like the game anymore after it was anounced only for the PS4.Xbone and PC... It is the best Monster Hunter i ever played, and i play it since the first one, and i am glad it made its way back on playstation, were it belongs. This game is almost perfect for an MH game, only the 20 minutes timer is really annoying, but i think this is only a beta issue / settings. Finally MH Fans getting nice Graphics and new features, it was the best thing that could happen to the franchise to go seperated ways with Nintendo Consoles / Handhelds. I hope they have good sales so they dont have to go back to nintendo for handheld sales in japan

you bash Volterra and your friends for being fanboys and not liking the game because its not on Nintendo anymore, yet you then say "where it belongs" in reference to it being back on playstation.

I wonder if your "best monster hunter you have played" is a little biased as well by it being back "where it belongs" as you so put it.

Got the chance to play this last night. I like that the core mechanics that make the game addicting are still there but the missions available were a breeze for me. I beat the great jagras in less than 5 minutes and didn't use a single potion. The third mission was more challenging but still pretty easy; I think they are just scared of driving newcomers away so I'm not really worried.

I like that they are expanding on the mobility and now the animations like drinking a potion make more sense. I'm not sure I completely understood the tracking mechanics but they seemed a bit pointless, maybe they make more sense with tougher monsters that are harder to find.

The open maps with not loading screens are welcome but a downside seems to be that monsters spend more time running away from you.

Overall the beta was good but, as with every mh demo I have played, it doesn't really give you a full grasp of what makes the series so addicting. I think I'll definitely get this someday because I still have to finish 4 and generations. That should give me some time to hope for mh5 on switch :p

Can you try beating Deablos? Since you're more familiar with MH, you should fare better than I did. Me and my friend are currently trying to kill him and it feels like we are getting close.

You select Mission 2, and start at Base Camp 15. He will be right outside of the basecamp.

Will try to do that and let you know. How long until the beta ends?

I just tested it with my friend, and I can confirm that it does let you chose which mission you want to do, and you friend stays in the party the whole time.

Maybe they should reword it. I can see how people could get confused.

Totally agree.  and sadly I think it will be hard to convince them now. Might guilt them since the game falls on my birthday. However thanks Hiku for helping with that. Also still stupid that you have put long code with Case Sensitivities & Numbers being a thing.

Update:

Also, has anyone beaten these guys yet?

They're not part of the quest objectives, but they are there in the stages. Going to try to kill them now with a friend.

My group beat Nergigante but we took too long.At the end, the 20min limit stopped us from completing the quest.

is that online single player thing going to be in the game when it releases or just something for the beta?

Just for the beta.

The beta needs to be online in order for Capcom to collect information like server stability and such.

Doesn't really matter if there or not come release. MH games are not meant to be played offline. You can play for only so many hours before you need to start playing with teams. So it being available offline is kind of a moot point imo.

Well.I wouldn't say you need to play with teams, but the game is certainly much more enjoyable that way.The option to play offline should be there for people that want it though.

Cool. Good luck.
And it says "December 12 at 4:59 p.m. (UTC)". That's about 19 hours and 20 minutes from now.

I gave it a try and it seems it is not possible to pull it off in single player. The weapons available are not strong enough so I always run out of time. Would you be willing to team up with me and give it a try?
