August

July

Out of all of these, the only one switch won even though it shows it didn’t, was july even though amazon had PS4 ahead. August, September and October all showed switch ahead these months which it won those corresponding npds. So yes, I still believe amazon is good at predicting the winner most non holiday months.

august and september were so close that those rankings are useless.

I wouldn’t call them useless. That’s a bit much. Switch was heavily supply constrained for much of this year though and it led to a lot of demand. But now that supply is finally catching up, we’ll get a much better picture of it’s effect on the market next year now that the launch and holidays will be behind us.

Since switch has been on the market, PS4 won big in June due to their gold PS4 and multiple game discounts. Then again last month at $199. Now that PS4 slim isn’t $199 anymore, switch is fully in front on amazon. To me that’s says PS4 can’t really compete against the switch at $299. Sony needs to drop the price again if it wants to win December.

2018 will probably be a repeat of 2017.

Switch wins most months according to NPD.

PS4 wins a few and is competitive even in the months it loses.

XBO goes back to a distant 3rd most months unless a big price cut or something happens that gives it a win for 1 or 2 months.

LOL your gonna be surprised dude when switch sales are gonna fall of a cliff in 2018. 2017 will be nothing like 2018, weather you wanna believe it or not 2017, is nintendo best line up ever, and also a new system launch that didnt meat demand for months, because most nintedo fans wanted one, so sales were inflated month to month, because day one buyers couldn't get it one.

That's probably not going to happen. Please stop trying to cause conflict.

Personally I think both consoles will thrive in 2018.

ps4 will win December as well, i'm calling it now. just look at COD it sold 4.4 million physical only, and mario out sold it in amazon. do the math.

Technically they have....

Before this November i was singing no stock from the rooftops. Now I am not so sure because they didn't have a stock problem.

It’s all because they didn’t have any discounts. If switch was discounted by $50, it would have performed much better but at full price, it’s kinda hard to compete against a $199 and $189 product.

Well to be fair a product that sells pretty well doesn't need a price cut first holiday season but a good bundle. I believe the PS4 did not get a pricecut (first NPD november after launch was only 870k) either and the Xone did, so it could keep up. The Switch was launched midgen so it's not all that surprising it has tough competition. On the other hand it's something new for those who already have a PS4 or Xone. Or those who are tired of the 3DS by now. Next year it will do better though, but I would have tought Switch was able to beat 1 million.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Games have never been an accurate measure on amazon. Consoles yes but not games. Plus thats a bit unfair comparing a multiplat franchise to a exclusive on a single platform. Of course a multiplat on a combined user base of roughly 35-37 million is gonna outsell a exclusive game on a platform of user base around 2-4 million.

Plus nintendo is known historically to sell far better in December than November.

i'm comparing sales numbers COD did 2.1 million on xbox, and probably 2.3 million on ps4 in November , yet there both behind Mario which probably did 900k. that tells me that nintendo products will sell much better on amazon.

And if I’m not mistaken, to make it even more unfair, cod was discounted to $39 during Black Friday week while to my knowledge Mario was not. So it’s not exactly a fair comparison at all.

did its not about mario vs cod, its about each version selling more then million units compared to mario, and yet there still behind on the amazon chart for November.

It's its first holiday so 1M was on the cards but 800/900k isn't bad at all and considering Nintendo didn't budge on price. I expect similar sales in December and overall a successful holiday in the US.

I think the Switch is within a shout of second for December but PS4 official temporary price cut should give Sony another 1st place. Even that isn't certain since Sony aren't giving their base model a pricecut.
