That’s funny when Nintendo fans have been the ones gloating for months in the NPD and Media Create charts.

You wouldn't believe that the fans that have been gloating the most, are the ones that are coming from one of the, if not The Biggest Flop in Consoles History.

Oh, what a CRIME!!!

It's not like Nintendo had one of the best turnarounds in video game history ever.

Jeez! Fuck us for being happy that the Switch is a massive success. You're totally right mister Sony diehard. Totally.

It doesn't, the PS4 is ahead of the Switch launches aligned.

At 399$

If you really insist that price alone puts PS4 at the disadvantage than you have to account for it having a blu-ray player and other multimedia features, 15x as much storage, and like 5x as powerful.

Yes i know. The Switch is Overpriced.

The PS4 wasn't up against a $200 PS4 in its first November neither. It was up against the pariahs that were X1 and WiiU.

The two aren't very comparable.

Isn’t the console being 4 years old a detriment to that console? And back in 2014, the PS4 was going against the $149 3DS and the $199 WiiU though. And the $330 Xbox One.

No, as long as it gets the AAA bombshell and a good price point, nobody care how old the console is, hence why he did wonder during BF.

+ 3DS wasn't even competiting in the same space as the PS4, they're unrelated

+ The WiiU was still selling at 299$ price point, but it didn't matter since it had litteraly no mind-share with the general public, except Nintendo enthusiasts.

You could say that almost everything was in favor of the PS4 to perform well at time.

Anyway, KLA said it, the 2 situations aren't very comparable.

Well yeah, the PS4 does have the best library so I guess you do have a point about the AAA bombshell part.

What space was the 3DS competiting in? I know there is a percentage of casuals who were buying it.

Everything in favor of the PS4 performing well except, you know, strong competitors both new hardware.

That was the consensus on these boards.

And if Switch was $199 this holiday it would have dominated, we can go back and forth all day on hypothetical situations, it doesnt change reality.

It doesn't, the PS4 is ahead of the Switch launches aligned.

At 399$

I am actually waiting for the thread to come up.... or the existing one to be updated.

Launch aligned a lot of people claimed that the reason the PS4 was ahead was because it launched in november. And that we would see what happens when the NS gets its first holiday.

Dare I say with how its looking now chances are the PS4 will still be ahead? Even though it was at a higher price. I my manufacturing capacity limiting stock and as such negating any period of launch argument holds more water now.

Used this in the previous Media Create thread, and think it's a pretty good fit here too at this point

We all should be happy that Nintendo is doing great.

Gloating tho? Not cool.

Mr. Sony Diehard? Also not cool.

3ds was $169. Switch looking good now right?

I dont get your point.

That price doesnt mean everything

I had it wrong LOL. I will take it for now, HOWEVER, the PS4 was 200 quid. Whatever argument there is after that is pointless. Sony fans gloat too much when they have been losing NPD's month after month to the Switch. That should say enough.

Oh well, we will see next NPD.

The PS4 was the better deal end of story.   And Microsoft launched a new console. Why would consumers not take advantage of the super low prices?

The $200 1TB PS4 SHOULD have been number one because it was the best deal for consumers. And even if it wasn't on sale XBOX would have one shipping at an even lower price and launching a new console.  The idea that console that have been out for 4 years have to keep their prices high to somehow trigger a Switch victory is anti consumer.

Sony fans deserve to congratulate the PS4.  Should they hang their heads in shame because Sony offered the better deal and won.  All month/year we were singing Nintendo's praises.  NO ONE said we couldn't be happy for Nintendo and Switch. Now that Sony won, its gloating?

I predicted the Switch to win too btw.

I agree with you. It is not everything, but it is VERY important.

Xbox One at 500$ and PS3 at 600$ are great examples.

PS4 number 1. XB1 number 2...and then Switch...

1 2 Switch......Great marketing by Nintendo!
