You could still get the avatar though, just click on the bottom-right instead of top-left.

I vote for removal of all features. Turn this into a plain text message board so it loads instantly.

Actually, lets just create a BBS so we can all cancel our internet service.

Yup.
If VGC wants to keep the effect, do it in CSS.
That way we can reduce our HTTP requests and gain the ability to view avatars.

To the person who asked why browsers take up more RAM than some games: this.
Chrome and Firefox (as well as other browsers) need to cache all these little images so we don't spend all day re-downloading them.

I don't think that's ever really been an issue, even if someone chose a similar name and same avatar, post count and history would give it away and the get banned
