Surprised after skimming the posts quickly there are quite a few people refusing to buy it because it does not contain motion controls. Really? Howcome people are pro motion controls all of a sudden, obviously having the option is better, but come one nobody uses motion controls anymore.

Motion controls are enjoying something of a renaissance in goodwill thanks to the Splatoon games.

Gyro aiming makes playing shooters on consoles, doable.

If you don't have access to mouse and keyboard, motion is the next best thing.

I would rather use one of the Joycons to point my target (Wiimote style) rather than Gyro controls like Splatoon. Goldeneye on Wii was amazing with motion controls. Is by far the best FPS experience I've ever had in terms of controls.

Now we need people to pick this up!

Unfortunately I am more interested in Skyrim and Resident Evil Revelations.

Switch!!!

Is this a joke? Why is that a big selling point for you? It does have gyro aiming, by the way.

You know that thing when you uhhh...and then you...hmmm. But then you have to...umm, Yuh.

The Switch version looks better then it has any right to, I thought the gap would be far bigger

It runs at half the framerate

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

No Nintendo gamer ever cared about framerate, they are the less relevant than anything else like an unussed mode on a game.

it's funny: Destiny 2 at 30FPS on the mighty Xbox One X and PS4 pro is fine. But DOOM on switch is bad. unplayable (add here so many games, I can remeber now Sonic forces - the game suck at all, but by eurogamer, avoid the switch port like a plague because, 30FPS)

Have I or anyone said it is unplayable on 30 fps?? I even prefer 30fps gaming... but most Nintendo fans here in VGC go on the high horse claiming how 60fps is the most important thing because it affects gameplay that is the only thing that matters in a game.

But the good part is since everyone is saying this looks good, if it doesn't sell on par with the other consoles then there won't be any excuses for it.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Because it's the best control scheme after mouse+keyboard, without a single doubt. It just makes the games feel great and play even better. I mean, there're a lot of non-believers because they haven't tried it or just because they haven't tried it enough. But I think that people who give gyro aiming a proper chance don't want to go back.

And, well, damn, does it have gyro aiming then? Could I ask you for a source for that? I didn't find anything .

It doesn't. You can do melee attacks with motion controls, nothing more.

Actually, there are some excuses. I've already played this game on PS4, and I guess that some other Switch owners might already have played in other platforms, being PC/PS4/One. Also, the install base is way lower than all the other platforms combined. And the price is also higher in this version. This port is aimed to people who haven't played Doom before on a lower install base, so I guess Bethesda has its expectations in check.

I think the game sold about a million on XOne (according to VGC, not sure if there are official numbers). More than that would be just shocking.
