Because it's the best control scheme after mouse+keyboard, without a single doubt. It just makes the games feel great and play even better. I mean, there're a lot of non-believers because they haven't tried it or just because they haven't tried it enough. But I think that people who give gyro aiming a proper chance don't want to go back.
And, well, damn, does it have gyro aiming then? Could I ask you for a source for that? I didn't find anything
